Waze Voice Change

I've been using Waze over wireless CarPlay and the strangest thing happens: when navigating: I'll hear the normal women's voice for a bit and then the voice will change by nearly a full octave lower right after. This keeps ping ponging back and forth over the course of navigation.

Has this happened to anyone else? I have the standard HiFi audio system if that makes any difference.

Yes same. We call it the crazy lady voice. Waze is a shitty piece of software. It's sent me into dead-ends and worse traffic than I was in previously several times. Now this.

Same thing is happening on Google Home. It bounces between American male, American female, British female and not sure what the fourth is...yet.

I had some issues with Waze on CarPlay in my 2 previous cars but nothing to this extent. I wonder if it's some gamesmanship being played on CarPlay users since Waze is owned by Google.

Any idea if Android Auto users have the same "crazy lady" voice?

I thought it was just me! This makes me feel better. Mine doesn't go british but it does change between male and female.
