BMS Oil Catch Can install

Thanks to AusX3 I ordered a BMS OCC from https://x-ph.com/burger-tuning-oil-c...b58-s55-s63tu/ (free shipping).

Was considering the Vargas OCC but I didn't want to take the chance the lines wouldn't fit since it comes with compression fittings. I trimmed the plastic so the bracket would fit better and I ordered 19mm hose https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094GMMDT4...t_details&th=1 to complete the install as the one with the kit will be short as the kit is for a G20. FYI the kit without an aftermarket intake comes with a plug to replace the intake muffler to create room from the stock intake pipe. The OCC does clear the shock tower and it shouldn't rub.

I found other OCC kits but at least this one comes with a bracket and the 90 degree adaptor that clicks into the stock hose from the top of the valve cover so its PnP. Just need a small worm clamp to keep the one hose from coming off.

That's awesome - glad it worked out.

It's great sharing but then get nervous sharing in case the next user does not have a good experience, so this is good!

YES, thank you for posting, it helped me. Good or bad, sharing knowledge helps in the long run (except for that valet switch to lock the hatch in an SUV post, jeezzus) . I just ordered these fancy tbolt clamps that come in 19mm to secure the hoses...lol.

You beat me to it! Got mine in last week and just been too busy to install, although I was in and out of the garage this morning looking at fitment. Just ordered some extra hose a couple of minutes ago.

Thanks for posting, this helps me visualize the install a bit better.

Damn nice job. The intake…beyond noise why do it? Just doesn't seem worth it. Kind of like the Dorch stage 2 and the AA catted downpipe sitting on my office floor.

Believe it or not, adding the intake not only increased the turbo sounds and wastegate woosh in conjunction with the upgraded hard pipes, but the truck felt more peppier than with the K&N drop in filter. Factory airbox really is restrictive in a sense IMO, now its just pulling air in all around.

After installing it and taking off to the next stop sign, the turbo noise was so much louder and then the wastegate dumped, I pulled over and thought the f'ing filter popped off or I broke something.

But who knows, Its BLUE, just BLUE Chief.

If you want I can send you my K&N filter(its RED) and you can have that sit on the floor next to your desk and cool parts.lol

BTW those hose clamps in 19mm don't fit ,too small, OD of the hose i Ordered is 27mm FYI.

😂😂
I agree the intake made a difference in acceleration according to the butt dyno. First time I heard that turbo whoosh; I did the same thing! Pulled over and popped the hood, thought something was "wrong".
Chief they make a RED intake you can order and keep in your office for a few months…. 🤔😂

Not long, only a few weeks and 1000kms, with some pretty spirited driving for run in.

I pulled the inlet line hose off and didn't feel anything on the internal of the hose.

I have a dyno session and some works planned for the 6th July so will take another look then

the hose I got from amazon was triggering my OCD, so I got a 90 degree hose from the b48 and it fits better and used those t-bolt clamps to make sure hose stays on and seals better.

Update:

So I wanted to put a small piece of foam as extra protection from rubbing on the shock tower as vibration might cause it to move.

It has been 30 days after installing the OCC and about 1800 miles of driving for the month, I found very light film of oil in the OCC.

Nice thanks for posting! That's a good reference point. All that stuff isn't on your intake now!

Yeah, not sure if there's been an increase of waste since running E85/more boost starting back of Nov 2022.

Thank you for your amazing post and recommendation. Gives a lot of support and confidence for my project.

Where did you get your strut bar? It looks great.

Also, I notice that when ordering the catch can, it says something like "requires BMS intake." I am running with aFepower GT Momentum intake so will this oil can setup not work??

Instead of installing rubber piece, wonder if oil can fits into a beer can koozie to keep it from making noise 😄
