892M Style Reps

What’s the chances of seeing 892M replica wheels release anytime soon so we don’t have to spend $4k and wait forever from BMW. This would also then allow for some wider wheels with proper offsets for the F97/98 so spacers aren’t needed. Seems to be the most popular rim for our cars. Hopefully someone’s willing to do it.

I was considering the 818M style wheels from CM Wheels. However they’re 22s and I don’t really want to deal with speedometer issues.

$3120 for front and rear wheels from BMWPARTSPROS. free shipping too. just gotta source TPMS and tires. not bad for OEM imo.

Why bother with reps when the real things are so reasonably priced?

I hadn’t seen that listing for $3,100. They are honestly reasonable. But most of the reps go for ~$1200. I had reps on a Camaro for the longest time and absolutely loved them. Just throwing it out there for discussion.

Id be able to steal TPMS and tires off my stock wheels which is nice. That’s the best deal I’ve seen on these.

I don’t see 892M wheels listed on their site… am I overlooking them?

I just got a quote of $5283.46 from my dealer for the 892's with Michelin Pilot Sport summer tires installed with new tpms. They said the fronts will come from Germany in about 2 - 3 weeks. The rears are in Florida and take a week. The tpms and tires next day.

At those prices you don't need replicas. The shipping charges are what will sticker shock you...

That's not bad for all that. I wonder what their return policy is though. I've bought many set of wheels over the years & when they get shipping 80-90% of the time at least one gets damaged during the process.

I tried ordering style 892m wheels from two sites and they cancelled my order. It was due to the high shipping costs. I ended up going thru my dealer and I verified the wheels upon arrival for damages

All sales are final and their wheels are non-returnable. So be cautious here. If you have any issues it's all on you & your pocket book. Great prices though.

Kind of ironic to hear people who drive X3m’s wanting replica wheels. Gotta scratch my head for this one

Being smart with my money is the only reason I was able to get a X3 M. There are plenty of known companies that can make quality replicas and charge a fraction of the cost. After all I am shopping for style over functionality. At this rate I might end up with OEMs anyway.

One question I have for anyone that knows, are any of the X3 M rims forged from BMW? That's usually the deal breaker for wanting OEM over reps.

They are most likely "flow forged" given their weight.

You can mitigate any shipping damages thru the shipper itself, although admittedly a PITA. BMW Parts Pros is pretty reputable and they have a forum representative in other forums,

And price. I saw "forged" thrown around with this wheel but I doubt they would be so cheap if they were fully forged.

And as noted, the weight savings vs. a fully forged wheel isn't there.

That said, price is fantastic for an OEM wheel.

BC forged wheel are around $4k a set for custom wheels. $3200 for a forged mass produced wheel doesn't seem that crazy.
