Hello All,

Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the ambient lighting for the 2022 X4 M40i.

I don't see it anywhere online on the configuration tool on BMW USA's website as a standalone package or part of another package (premium, etc.), dealer did not see it mentioned anywhere as an option when placing our order either and was unable to clarify. They are "guessing" it's standard on the 2022's and said they had one on the lot that has ambient lighting, but doesn't have it listed as an option.

I've seen conflicting posts here with some mentioning it's an option and some mentioning it's standard on 2022 X4.

The BMW press release for the 2022 LCI models seems to indicate it's an option... where they call it "Extended Ambient Lighting" and describe it as "The optional Ambient Light features lighting above the decorative trim..."

Trying to get clarity, any help would be appreciated. Really hoping this isn't another one of those options that has been pulled for ordering due to shortages.

That press release threw me off, too! Because it wasn't anywhere in the standard features list or as part of any option. But was able to confirm with my dealer that it was on the X4, and see the code on the build sheet. At some point they decided to make it standard - maybe because they were deleting so much other stuff?

Ambient lighting is standard on the 22' M40i. Mr. Cabman is correct.

Hi all.

I just purchased my BMW X3 2022 30i. Delivery will be EOM

I don’t see it listed in the sheet the dealer gave me as being standard either.

Does anyone know if ambiant lighting is also standard on the 30i?

Yes ambient lighting is standard on MY22 X3 30i. I received mine in June and it came standard.

Thanks! I confirmed with the sales rep and it is standard.

The only thing deleted due for Covid here is the hands free feature for the trunk
