This is annoying and I hope there’s an easy fix.
Every time I start the car , “calculating route” pops up on the HUD and just stays there unless I enter a destination.

Thought it might be a Siri suggestion (Apple Maps or something) but this still happens when my iPhone is off. So I have to assume it’s the BMW navigation causing an issue.

I think so… how does one even stop the last navigation?
There’s literally nothing set and it’s stuck on “calculating route” and the area below that typically shows directions is empty

I would set a new destination and then as soon as she starts giving directions I would cancel it.

So, I guess I'm reviving an old thread... This recently started to happen to me. I am using  maps, as they work with the HUD. Usually I set my route on my way to the car and there was never an issue. Now it happens almost every time. And yes — if I stop the route and restart it, it is ok, but it's a huge pain in the ass to do this while driving. Anyone here figured it out beyond "fooling it"? Tx!

could. I'm using it too and haven't noticed anything wonky, but I use wayze, I'll try maps

I'll try the reset and see if it's any better. And the official 17 should be out any day now.

Just tired with the same results you reported. That definitely did not happen before I was on the beta

I’m trying to remember how I fixed this but I think it’s the BMW maps causing the issue. Create a new destination using bmw maps and then cancel the route. See if that fixes the issue

Thanks, but I never use the native nav — I use  maps.

Still recommend you give it a shot. Navigation in bmw could have been triggered inadvertently.

Thanks, I did do that, I think I tried to explain it in my original message. On at least one occasion it did work, and I'm not entirely sure if there was a time when it just wouldn't quit. Unfortunately it's a pain in the ass doing that while you're driving. I think I'm going to reboot my idrive and wait until ios17 rolls out officially. Hopefully either or both will do the trick!

I installed iOS 17rc and navigation with Apple Maps is working like it should

I am having the same issue with CarPlay and Apple Maps on my 2021 G06. When first destination is set, the main display shows it like expected. But CLUSTER shows BLANK and HUD shows CALCULATING ROUTE.

If I end that route and set it the second time, no more issues. Until I restart the car again, the issue resurfaces. Something screwed this up. Maybe iOS 17 beta and now 17 General Release has introduced that issue.

I’m totally unfamiliar with anything but the native BMW maps…but if guidance needs to be cancelled…there’s several quick ways to do that.

• Press the mic/speak button on the steering wheel and use a voice command & say “STOP GUIDANCE”
• Move the iDrive controller knob to the tool bar along the left side of the screen and select the guidance icon…it will give a selection to STOP GUIDANCE (I have NBT/4…later iDrive version may have the icons along the right side of the screen..so where ever the icons are located…move the iDrive controller to that side of the screen and scroll down to see if there’s a selection to stop guidance) {see the 1st two pics below}
• Press down on the iDrive controller knob and it may give you a selection to stop guidance {see the last 3 pics below}

Again, your versions of iDrive may be different…but you may be able to extrapolate how to quickly stop guidance from this earlier version of iDrive.

If you read 2 posts above yours, it appears that RM fixed this. I just got back today and haven't tested it yet, but should see soon!

Still happened to me yesterday At least on the first leg of the trip. Didn't happen on the way back, so now I need to see if it will happen again. Maybe I will need reset my idrive...
