Question about driving assistance pro

Hey guys,

I am currently in an m340i and very much have been considering an X3M. I will be lease transferring my current m340i, and for sure either getting a fully loaded one (Theres a ton of stuff i wasnt able to get on the m340i that I want)
, or going to the x3m.

My question with the X3M though, is whether or not the driving assistance pro system is the same in it as the one in the G20 3 series. One thing that threw me off a bit is that there is no eye tracking unit in the X3M, and I am wondering if there is any functionality the G20 version of the driving assist has that the X3M does not?

Thanks everyone

You'll need to wait for 2021MY.
Supposedly iDrive7 and Live Cockpit will be implemented.

FYI, Live Cockpit Pro and ID7 are confirmed in the ordering guide and on the configurator.

Live cockpit and idrive 7 are already being implemented in production after april of this year... but are you suggesting that the driving assistance pro on the idrive 6 platform is not the same as the one being implemented in idrive7?

I am just concerned with the features and usability being the same.

If you are comparing to G20, I would say it will be the same system.
Unless BMW implementing a newer system, which I doubt because nothing was announced.

'20 F97/F98 come with 5AT Driving Assistance Plus
The pro version to my knowledge was not offered in North America. Maybe in other regions?

Does the '21 have a pro option for North America?

The pro is pretty cool. Tried on a X5

Okay so i think this is where the disconnect is for me.

You are right, X3M only offers the driving assistance plus package.

The G20 lets you select driving assistance pro.

So I guess then, the capabilities of these two systems is not the same then? I see the descriptions are different, and it does seem the driving assistance pro has more capable features.

Im assuming the X3M cannot drive itself in stop and go traffic like the G20 can

Our X4M can drive us in stop and go traffic in the US. We have the normal driver assistance plus package.

Interesting. I wonder if maybe the only difference then is the autonomous steering within the lane, and the auto lane changes when you use your blinker etc.

Autonomous steering is also included. I set the stop and go cruise on and then set the distance, and then turn on auto steering. I can barely keep my hand on the wheel and it just drives itself. Doesn't, however, have the auto-lane change feature.

My experience in Europe (higher speeds) was that autonomous steering had significant problems on the highway with exit ramps. Got rely confused. I use it in the states on long trips, however.
