BMW Factory on Steroids?
So, my individual color custom build went from "Scheduled for production" through the next 12 production steps to "At the port" in 8 days! I suppose that's typical, but there were days when I would check on it and it had progressed two or three stages in one 24 hour period. Amazing! Now the wait begins. From "At the port" to "At my dealer" will be at least a month, I would guess. Any others' experience?

Once it goes into production, they are generally getting fully assembled in 4-5 days, and then transport to Bremerhaven in another 2. Port wait is the longest...as that seems to be taking 2 weeks on average to get on a boat.

Port wait for me was a week. But boat journey is 26 days followed by two more weeks from VPC to dealership.

That is fast! I was looking at my window sticker and I was surprised to see that the Port of Houston was an actual port of entry for BMW.

Mine started production 13 days ago and is currently awaiting carrier assignment. Seemed to go through the assembly process quite quick
Now it sounds like the long wait to come across the pond and through customs... |
