Looks really close to production form already. It looks just like an normal X3, I guess that is the point of making EV feels normal, but a bit boring.

I'm impressed. These new cars are going to have some insane cargo space... I'm interested in what is under the hood, even if it is just empty space.

I'm glad Bmw is getting on the band wagon, but nothing earth shattering here. The model 3 can be optioned with a 75kw battery and has larger range as it is a bit smaller. The styling is ok. I'm all for electric cars, but I was expecting something a little better. I felt the i8 and even the i3 were a bit more special. Even the i4 concept was a bit more inspiring. Audi, jag, and Benz all have competitors now and I don't feel this is really a game changer for bmw.

It's full BEV'S that BMW needs to bring, like yesterday. They are doing better than Mercedes at this point in time.

The iX3 is not close to being a serious concept, as it is pretty much a cheap solution using the ICE chassi and holding the cost at a minimum, meanwhile you loose all the benefits that comes from building an EV as a EV from the start, like the i-pace. So when BMW chooses the budget solution, the EV train that they started so good with the i01, is slipping away. The i4 is a 3GT is interesting, so is the inext, both are not far behind the iX3.

i3 REx, and i3 BEV, i8 PHEV, current 3er PHEV, 5er PHEV, and X5 PHEV,... And soon there will be the iX3 PHEV, and iX3 BEV(100% Battery Electric Vehicle) Not bad, but BMW seriously needs to step up their game to remain competitive in the luxury sector.

Just the way I understand/think:
1. G01 X3 was developed with electrification in mind from the beginning. It's not like BMW took an ICE car and just replaced engine with motor/battery, so while this looks nothing fancy, it IS a proper electric car. 2. I believe and hope that iX3 will be positioned a bit lower price than I-Pace, EQC, and e-tron. iX3 does not need a separate R&D, separate body, separate manufacturing line for body, etc. While I-Pace starts at CAD$86.5K and we all know EQC and E-Tron will be even more expensive, I really hope that iX3 stays below $70K in CAD$. 3. Just like eDrive mentioned, no one will cross-shop between iX3 and Model 3. I just can't stand the barebone interior and the typical small trunk opening of a sedan. 4. The real ground-breaking BMW EV that will go hand-in-hand with EQC and E-Tron will be iNext, which will be BEV only platform/body. |

To be fair, the G01 was likely designed with the BEV/EV offering in mind. I don't think it's as simple as 'slapping a battery on it' like you make it sound. It wasn't an afterthought.
