Spied: Full Electric 2020 BMW iX3 Prototype
BIMMERPOST NEWS Spied: Full Electric 2020 BMW iX3 Prototype February 24, 2020 The debut for the full electric BMW iX3 is getting closer as the prototypes are now appearing in different colors. Also see here for the first time are the Aerodynamic Wheels exclusive to the iX3. BMW has officially published that the iX3's range is rated at 440 KM (WLTP) and feature a 74 kWh battery. The electric motor featured in the BMW iX3 delivers a maximum power output of 210 kW/286 hp and 400 Nm torque. August 30, 2019 The full-electric BMW iX3 prototype has been spotted! First previewed as the iX3 Concept at the Auto China auto show, the production iX3 definitely sticks closely to the concept design, especially the most distinctive part of the design - the one-piece grille. The lower intakes also stay close to the concept's. The iX3 concept was presented with a 70+ kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor outputting more than 266 HP. Range should be more than 249 miles on a single charge. We expect similar specs for the production iX3.

I'm pretty sure its an optical illusion so its harder to notice the creases and bodylines. Rather than putting on thick coverings over the car, the camo swirl does the same job of hiding details while being thin and light.

Yes. It's harder to see lines and details.

They figured it out!
Cars don€™t have to look like space ships or like they are from Tron to be electric. |

Looks a lot like the concept but hoping that since the Kidney Grille(s) are still camouflaged that the jury is still out on the Grille design.

The "Charging Infrastructure" is way overrated. Most EV owners (70%) never use public chargers it at all. I'm on my third EV (Volt, Tesla, i8) and I've NEVER used one. Most EV owners, like myself, simply plug in their cars when they get home and just let them charge overnight. That's why range is so important to EV owners. If you can make your daily average, with a comfortable buffer, then you are good to go! 200+ is pretty generous I think! I'm never going to take a pure EV on a road trip unless its just for the "challenge" of it. I couldn't care less about the charging infrastructure... Tesla has them beat simply because Tesla has been selling cars...a lot of them..for more than a couple of years.

I disagree... If you want to take a trip, having to charge is a given.

Right rear quarter panel.
Same as the gas door on it's ICE counterpart.

American families average 2+ cars per household. Only one of those might have to be an EV. Keep at least one ICE for long trips... The stats I saw were %users who used public chargers. It was further delineated by brand. Overall, less than 30% of owners used public stations. I think the Leaf had the most. It was a year or so ago. I'll see if I can find it...
