The Dynamic Handling is only an option for the 30i; it is standard on the M40i.

I just saved you $1,400

The numbers I was given included MF .00192 (probably increased a little by dealer) and residual 59% for 10k miles/year. Not the best numbers unless you would want to buy it out at the end. My crystal ball says you'll pay at least $100/month more depreciation than you should with that residual.

Dynamic Handling is not standard on M40i. The M40i comes with M Sport Suspension if you want something like dynamic handling then add the Adaptive M Suspension for $700.

The dealer has marked up the money factor by the maximum permitted by BMW financial services. You should insist on the base rate (zero markup) if you have good credit score.

DHP is a world better than M Adaptive. It?s incredible how accessible it is on the X3.

Not true. Had DHP on 2 550's only because the available suspension choices for X Drive 550's did not include the sport suspension until the M550 this year. I now have a M550 with the M adaptive suspension and it's way superior. It's linear in it's travel unlike DHP which floats in a straight line then tightens in curves, feels very artificial.
That said I can't speak about the X3's suspension but i would suspect it operates the same way.
I'll be ordering my M40i X3 with adaptive M sport.

On your 5's the DHP package includes Active Roll Stabilization as well as Dynamic Damper Control. It is the ARS that you are noticing on the curves... tightens the suspension on the outside wheels making for a very "flat" cornering experience. I've owned a couple of 535's with ARS and actually really liked how it handled the cornering on the back roads.

I do not believe that DDC reacts to cornering forces and from what I've read Adaptive M suspension is closer to DDC than ARS. On the '18 X3 ARS is not available, only DDC or Adaptive M. In my experience of DDC the floating sensation is only if you select the comfort modes... select a sport mode and it stiffens up.

Does anyone know what the October programming numbers are for the X3?

Residual and MF? 12/36?

You are correct, on the new X3 (M40i) Active Roll Stabilization (ARS) is not available. This model comes standard with the M Sport suspension which is not an active suspension with the addition of adjustable dampers (DDC) as an option for $700 which also lowers the vehicle 1/2".
I have the M550 version of this suspension (with DDC) and like it, it reacts in a very linear way. You can go from a comfortable ride to a stiffer better handling one with the push of a button.
I have not driven the new X3 M40i and I haven't read any reviews that have given an in depth review of the M Sport suspension with DDC. I've read some reviews about it being on the soft side but not how the optional adjustable dampers change the handling characteristics.
