New wheel liners with aftermarket m3 bumper?
Have a preLCI mtech e90, doing the LCI conversion with oem hood and aftermarket m3 bumper. Already on the car. The brake ducts that came with the bumper don't line up with the holes in the wheel liners, and there is a small L bracket on the ducts that looks like it's supposed to line up with a hole in the liner, but there is no hole there. Also the passenger side duct is a bit long, making the liner bulge out and rub the tire on left turns. Is this a known issue that will be rectified with certain liners or should I just fabricate something to work?

When I put my M3 bumper on, my old liners didnt really line up with the new bumper. It was okay for a while (about 6 months), but at high speeds the air flow was pushing the liner into my tire and melted it away over time. I eventually took it to a body shop where they just put thick aftermarket liners in. Now it looks good, and the liners dont look like shredded cheese, lol.

If you have the OEM Mtech bumper, you may have the wheel liners that are "required" with the bumper. You may just need to purchase the regular OEM liners that fit with the stock bumper. Guessing most guys don't go OEM Mtech (with the liners) to M3 and therefore is not a common issue.
edit - You may be talking about an E90. If so, disregard my post. |
