I would be interested in one that protects the little lip/top of the rear bumper. My wife's hatchback has all sorts of nasty scratches there from loading heavy stuff over the years...

Here a few pics of my BMW rear liner. We use it to cover the rear lip when putting on our ski stuff. In the winter I just roll it on top of the liner, in the summer it tucks under and is secured in place with two Velcro tabs.

I have it, the cargo mat you mentioned is for X5. It does fit the X3, will post a few photographs on how the cargo mat fits X3.

I just bought the Carbox version and it covers the metal strip:
http://www.carbox.co.uk/acatalog/Car...px?subCat=6346 The pic is not accurate as the lip is not that high. They do two versions / lip heights. Not sure if you can get them in the US.

Thanks! I didn't realize I could get this from BMW. I will go inquire about a price! I don't want to mess up the bumper lip... My wife's car is such a mess it's just a Mazda 3 so I don't cAre much but I don't want to mess up my brand new BMW!

Haha! Those are free in the US, but part of an absurd money-sucking $300 "storage package" in Canada and some other places. Not a problem for me! I learned about that package (that also includes the left-hand glove box) after my car was already built

I went with a weathertech trunk liner. You can cut and trim the weathertech to fit your hooks (albeit only in certain spots) as well as trim out the pockets or fold it over. I looked at all the BMW liners in person and was not impressed. Problem I had with the sidewall liner was that if you wanted to fold the seats down and put anything in... issues... Maybe you could flip it around so the back sidewall is at the trunk? I ended up getting the BMW xdrive liners for the front and rear seats, though.

Main concern now is the mat covering the sliders. I use the cargo net at times. |
