center console peeling buttons
Got my 2014 X3 3 months ago (july)
currently only 1600 miles on it and noticed the traction button was beginning to peel and also around the media button. im assuming the warranty will cover this.. |

i would suggest heat being the cause, perhaps something is getting too hot under the console - best to get it to BMW asap.
On a more important note, why have you only done 1600 miles since July?? Ive only had mine 5 months and I have 10000 miles on it!

They will probably fix under warranty but it is strange that the surround as well as the button is affected. It does suggest some sort of spillage whether in assembly or your ownership, could be heat as suggested too. The coating on my auto hold button is wearing but this is after 3 years, even so 3 years isn't great. Why BMW don't use black plastic is beyond me - it's always about cost.
