22’ LCI burbles

Does anybody know how to get the 22’ LCI x3m comp to burble? I feel like the exhaust is so quiet compared to my 19’ x4m40. Sorry if this has already been covered but the only thread I saw required removing a fuse which seems to me like it would void warranty and would cause problems with the dealer.

I think some of that has to do with which mode you're in (the little exhaust button on the center console) if you have a tune, and if you have aftermarket downpipes or exhaust. Those are all factors so I guess it all depends on how loud you want your car to be farting.

It will only burble in Sport or Sport+ while in D2 or D3 transmission mode.

Thanks everybody. I have the exhaust button on, and keep in sport+ mode all the time, the burbles are very feint besides after a cold start. Can you tune the new x3m’s? I had an MHD stage 1 on my x4 but MHD doesnt have the 22 x3m listed.

Any mods will void your warranty.
It just depends on your dealership whether they want to void it or not, and which part of the warranty that will be voided.

My dealership said the res delete was fine with them but did say SOME dealers could refuse any warranty work on the exhaust due to the res delete

I have the Remus midpipe on my f97 and my mufflers needed to be replaced because of this awful rattling from the inside. I thought for sure the dealer was going to give me a problem because of the midpipe but I was pleasantly surprised. No issues at all. The tech actually said it was a much easier install since the exhaust was already cut because of the midpipe 😀👍🏻.

I respectfully disagree. The dealer cannot void your warranty. The manufacturer can only void parts of the warranty unless the car was a total loss and paid off by an insurance company. The manufacturer must prove the aftermarket part/tune to be the cause of the issue. The challenge is the owner would need to fight the manufacturer in court which is very costly and time consuming and likely not worth it unless you are a lawyer or have someone who is take the case for free. In addition the dealer may not have an option to overlook something. If you blow the engine BMW will require the dealer to upload the ECU/DME data. They will not provide a replacement until they see that data and that it was not modified.

Most dealers only care that they get paid. Whether BMW or the owner pays makes little difference to the dealer. That said, if a repair does not require the dealer to get approval from BMW they likely will look the other way to keep the owner happy and continue to visit that dealership.

To boil it down, if you tune your car and you have a catastrophic failure of a major component like engine/trans/AWD system you’ll likely be on your own. I also advise being careful with piggyback tunes. There is a lot of contradictions on whether the manufacturer can see if there was a piggyback tune. People selling them will likely tell you the manufacturer will never know. Others have said it will leave a footprint.

I'm either D1 or manually shifting in S3. Car burbles anytime I let off the gas. Stock LCI.

Agree this thing needs something - thinking dinan mid pipe.

Yea, I mean I hear some burbles. But it is very quiet and almost sounds like a deep underwater burbling.

A modification to the exhaust seems like the only way to upgrade those burbles and make them louder or more aggressive. But this in turn can cause for a voided warranty. So still unsure of what to do.

Build a relationship with someone in your service department - you should have zero issues with an exhaust when it comes to warranty.

Agree car is too quiet from inside. That sound deadening is way too good lol.

I had the Remus Race Exhaust on mine and the burbles were amazing. I sold the car, but still have the exhaust if you are interested.

I wish the burbles were more random on my 2020 comp. It sounds so fake due to the predictability.

Any time I am in sport + it will burble whenever I let off the gas as well.
