Wow, excellent review and write-up! I just got my 2022 TR X4MC and I haven't decided between MSS and the KW Coilover Kit with EDC - Variant 3. Am I "wrong" for wanting to keep EDC? Which would you recommend (I'm 95% sure I know your answer) if:
1) Assume money is not a factor for this analysis. 2) Ride comfort on rough roads at 20mph over the speed limit are what I call unbearable, mostly in NY and around/near the city. I currently live about 90 miles north of NY City. 3) I would like to have my cake and eat it too -- much better ride comfort with 2) and at least similar and hopefully better performance/handling. 4) I do not desire to lower my car mostly for looks, but to lower the center-of-gravity (at least an inch) which should improve cornering/handling. 5) I plan to have installed Future Classic 12mm spacers. Currently my summer and winter tires/rims are the two 21" M Performance rims offered on the car (Styles 892M and 765M) with Michelin PS4S summer tires (came w/Continentals) and Pirelli Scorpion winter tires. 6) This work and window tinting and installation of Expel Ultimate Plus PPF and namolex Si3D HD ceramic to match the car of RW Carbon spoiler, all CF side vents, and upper seat backs. M Performance side mirror covers already installed. Sorry, off topic. Thank you in advance for your feedback/recommendations! Even if you aren't going for max drop you'll fall in love with how much the car transforms. It really does start feeling like a large hot hatch and less of an SAV. Hope this helps!

Great write up. What tires are you running BrockDM? They do make a huge difference even in stock suspension.

I have Michelin PS4S. I ran OE sizing on the stock wheels and have recently threw on BC Forged with the popular 265/295 combo. I didn't really notice a difference from the tires but I have no complaints either way.

Ugh, love how low you are. I'm on MSS and I'm mostly happy with the setup but would like to have the ability to make ride comfort adjustments you have with the KWS. I can't go any lower because of how aggressive my wheel/tire setup is.

Great review. I am not a fan of the lowering range offered by KW V3 coilovers (prefer near OEM suspension height) but independently adjustable compression and rebound controls provide the broadest range of suspension tuning options, especially in areas with less than perfect roads.
... and a great purchase decision! |

KW V3
Picked up my car with the KW V3s and 12mm Future Classics all around. I like the ride very much. The car is lower than I planned -- I may raise it up some more.....
THANK YOU!

I am debating if I should raise my car some. BMW enthusiasts and the awesome Detailer's Domain crew who did all of my post-purchase work say it looks great like this. It is lowered about 2" with KW V3s and 12mm Future Classics all around. I posted a few days ago. I did not lower for visual appeal, but to be able to use KW V3s for the ride. I know that lowering improves handling because the center-of-gravity is lower, but don't I loose shock travel. If I am cornering at high speeds (see PS) can't the tires hit the car? Thoughts please....
PS - i have my 1,200 mile break-in service tomorrow and will be "enhancing" the HP with a JB4 including Dyno runs before and after #RedX4MC #TheUltimateDrivingMachine #ILoveRetirement #BMWM50YearAnniversaryEmblems #Only503Horsepower #600HPAfterBreakIn #RetiredMechanicalEngineer #BMWofRidgefieldAskforDan #DetailersDomainAskforPhil #SMDI (Spending my Daughter's Inheritance)
