cool concept, poor execution imo. hybrid V8 is lame, just give us the G81 instead

Pass. These heavy ass cars are no better than SUVs now. Can't hide this kind of weight no matter what suspension magic is performed. Kinda disappointing where the future of cars is headed if you ask me.

While I am happy that we are getting a fast BMW wagon stateside, I can't really justify getting this over the X3M. I'm sure the interior will be very nice, but the X3M interior is great already. And it would be hard to make anything that is effectively faster than X3M on the street, especially with light tuning on the X3M. We already have a 10 second car that looks great, has plenty of usable interior space, and decent ground clearance.

These wagons are very popular in Europe, saw many of them when I was stationed there for about 7 yrs while in the service. Never thought they had a market in the US, but who knows.

The only reason this got green-lit for USA is because of the success of the RS6 and to a lesser degree, the E63s wagon.

5400 lbs though is crazy.

What I find funny is that they keep increasing horsepower as a selling point.
However in reality they have to add power because with all the extra weight means the acceleration data would be slower if they didn't. (Not picking on BMW, everyone does this)

I'm certainly not buying this one, I'm holding out for the next one that will be 6500lbs and 900hp

///M has lost is way sadly. Driving experience is about driving dynamics. Even the X3M is more sledgehammer than scalpel. I would expect that from Dodge/Mopar, not BMW.

I had a loaner the other day while my car was in the shop. It was a 228i. It had ///M logos everywhere... I'm sorry, but that's just not right at all...

Then we can talk about the price of the "wonder wagon" that we getting in the US.
I suspect it will be priced above the RS6 Avant (newer, higher HP + Hybrid) and between the X5/6MC and the XM, so $150k to start

While I'm a big fan of the previous generation of the Hot wagons, after seeing them all over Germany on my trips, I suspect this particular design is way over done for it to be very popular here.
No thank you.

I do agree, while the very well done M5, RS6 and MB Wagons are everywhere in Europe, this made for the US market concept being floated here just seems like a miss to me...
Do you think it will be popular in Europe?

We seem to prefer our SUVS and Minivans here in the US, and I always found it a bit odd the differing views on these larger vehicles...

In Europe yes, they will eat it up...here, not sure. Like you stated we prefer SUVS and minivans. Hell, I had a Ford Windstar minivan in 1998, and multiple Explorers and Expeditions throughout the years, with the last Expedition in 2017. Which I traded for the 2021 JGC SRT.
