Spare Tire F97

I have a 2020 F97 and have been having a hellish time sourcing out a spare tire. It comes with the mobility kit and I don't want to be stranded in the spring/summer when I go on long distance drives.

I have the 718M 21s so it has a rolling diameter of about 28.6"

Modern spare sells a kit with an 18" wheel designed for the G01, but their rep says it will fit the F97 as well. Brakes are about 2" larger than the M40i even, so I'm wondering if anyone has bought one and tried it? It has roughly the same rolling diameter on 18s as they use a wider tire, but as I'm Canada, I can't easily ship it back if it doesn't fit.

The other option is an OEM emergency wheel from BMW PN# 36118090622 and apparently based on other posts I've seen it supposedly comes with a 135/70R19 tire, but it seems quite a bit smaller than the stock wheels. That can't be great for the diff even for a relatively short trip to the garage? A BMW parts shop in the US told me to get the wheel and they can put a 155/80R19 on it instead.

If anyone has sourced this out after the fact, please share. If it is somewhere in Canada that would be a bonus as shipping up here is almost $190 USD.

I doubt an 18" wheel will fit. 20"s leave little clearance and it is a modern marvel the 19" OEM 135/70 R19 fits (but it does).

I cannot speak to any diff damage but would imagine it is ok for temporary usage. I have only used it to go in/out of the garage to take a wheel off which had a screw in the tire.

Exact effects may be hard to come by as few people with an X3M want the spare (and associated 3" hump) but hopefully someone will chime in.

Edit - Not sure if is an option, but how about getting an actual 20"/21" wheel/tire and throw it in the hatch when you go on long trips (assuming you will have room with luggage)?

The prices for the BMW wheel are crazy and you can get a cheap wheel from tire rack for a fraction of the cost.

Another option is to find someone with a spare who wants the non-spare setup and do a swap (there are some threads on this).

I would gladly perform a swap with you if you were closer to my location (Seattle). I would much rather have the mobility kit and get the extra space. If you are ever out this way...

What's the price to order the emergency wheel through your dealer?

I had to use the emergency spare a couple months before I got rid of my vehicle. Drove it 60mi home on the expressway doing about 60mph. I was very glad I had it.
