So I also ordered an x3 m40i 3 weeks ago and my salesman at the dealership emailed me saying BMW did not give them any build slots for the x3 m40i for October so my car will go into production in November, he said they are going to try for a dealer trade for a build slot.

Posted this in a separate thread but thought I'd post it here as well for those who are waiting. For a point of reference, I placed an order on Friday and my dealer was showing a week 38 build:

So I called BMW Genius today and they are showing a production date of week 45 (Nov 8). Yikes, that's a full seven weeks later than what my dealer indicated originally. My CA said he took another order today which didn't appear to get pushed back but it didn't have the Driving Assistance Package. Just for a point of reference for those in the queue, my build is Alpine White/Vernasca Leather with the following packages:

Driving Assistance
Shadowline
Parking Assistance
Premium
Remote Engine Start
21" 718 Wheels
HK Stereo
Drive Recorder

Wow I'm so glad I got mine early. I specifically wanted to get an AWD vehicle before it starts to get snowy in the Midwest. I thought about waiting until September to order since I technically didn't "need" it this early, but I guess I seriously lucked out. I would be incredibly vexed to have my production suddenly be pushed back 1-2 months later than promised.

For reference I ordered my X3 M40i on 8/30/21 and just called BMW to find out my build is scheduled for Week 38 (next week) I have most options checked too. See pic.

Just for a data point. I ordered without the driver assistance package or parking assistance. Ordered Aug 23rd. Expected build date oct 31 to nov 6. And confirmed with dealer today that it was NOT due to their allotment.

- Tracker showed Scheduled for Production on 8/23
- Tracker then went back to Order Received on 9/1
- Tracker now shows Scheduled for Production as of 9/13

Maybe things are moving again for other orders as well.

Mine stayed scheduled from late August until last week, then it took from last Monday 9/6-9/8 to complete, left the factory and arrived in upstate New York on Saturday. Can't wait to drive it. First, my detailer picks it up and gives full ppf/ceramic coat.

Good choice. Mine will be getting PPF, ceramic, and tint for the first 3-4 days I have it.

08/26: order placed. Dealer claimed week 38 build.
09/07: BMW Genius line said it's now scheduled for week 42.
09/13: Scheduled for week 45.
