Do NOT drive staggered wheels with any setting above 0%.
Can some smart person provide on what the hell above means?

if (>0% AND staggered setup) then DO NOT DRIVE ???

Is this ONLY applicable in the Custom mode setting?

Nonetheless, anyone planning (???) to get a RWD only dyno (shore beats mucking with transfer case) ?

Since xdrive was known to get easily killed with wrong tyres....i really wonder how this app can work without major transfer case damage. I would buy it gladly, but something just doesnt add up...

In other words, don't be that guinea pig? I know the local shop with RWD dyno has had many, many xdrive M5s on their dyno with but maybe those cars have factory way of going all RWD with M xdrive. Hrm...

It works by disengaging the transfer case. The car will naturally do this if you download the app then go to live view you can see how the car does this as you drive(awd when accelerating and slowing turning rwd as you get up to speed then fully off when coasting). For instance when you turn the car off it disables the transfer case making it virtually rwd, this is why you can unplug the transfer case and go do burnouts(will throw car in limp and tons of other shit happens)

So, from your point of view, just for the purpose of doing dyno on a 2 wheel dynojet machine with factory stock staggered tire setup (2019 M40i), you see no issue (???) going RWD only with xDelete? Again, just for dyno purpose and that alone only?

If so, then would be bit more convenient than to mess with the transfer case stuff, but i do recall there was one post here elsewhere that a member had disconnected transfer case for RWD only dyno.

You can run staggered wheels just not tires. Anything below 2% is okay. Shit ive been at 3.7% for the last 5k miles

You can use the app for any purpose you see fit. When weather gets better I’m flashing rwd and slinging my car round and round for the fun of it😂😂 it will not cause any damage to the driveline that wouldn’t already be there. As I said the car will naturally go between 0-100 and 50-50 bias

ok, ok, makes sense. So xhp must have figured out how to do this "at will" from their custom codes. Cool beans. This would open up whole new opportunities with my local shop/(remote) tuning for custom tuning.

Exactly, for instance if you put our cars on a awd dyno you can do passes without dyno mode but if you activate dyno mode when you go WOT front wheels will disengage. I wish I had a video of this to show but sadly didn’t video when I was at the dyno

wtf, i didn't know the car has a dyno mode that can do that. I thought the roller dyno mode setting just keeps from down shifting on wot. Learn something new each day...

You still need an awd dyno if your not using x delete but that’s just what the car does when it’s in dyno mode

Just to clarify: so in case of 100% torque transfer to rear there is no discs/clutches/gears suffering, oil boiling....going on?

Yes and no virtually there is no transfer. There is still oil pressure around the front clutch but it’s not enough to engage the front wheels. People have been using this for a while and bmw has also now added this feature for the f90 and g80

The RWD feature can also be coded in via eSYS,(atleast on the F97/98) by someone who knows what they're doing. So it's definitely not 'new' per-se.

Wait, I am more confused ...
So what does Dyno mode in a stock Xdrive do at all?
If it disconnects the Xdrive clutch, why can it not be run on a RWD only Dyno?
If it still connects the Xdrive , what difference does it make?

And really there is no way to run on a RWD Dyno with an stock Xdrive car ( excluding M3/4/5 with factory RWD switch)

It disengages the front only when wot, so when coasting up through gears it’s still active. Pretty much dyno mode is used to stop the car from tripping out on some dynos. You will always need a awd dyno unless using x delete or similar methods.
Even then it’s not recommended to use the factory method as cars have activated the front wheels. It’s only really safe to do it with the car telling it to never activate the front wheels

Am I the first one to buy this lol. Anyway. RWD mode is fun. I cant get traction anywhere. Currently on awd sport and its a more sporty feeling. You can still get the rear to kick a bit. One thing you need to be aware of is rolling tire size diameter. If you keep it on RWD and switch to awd later on your rear tires will be considerably worn compared to the front.

They need to add FWD only to even it out 😆

Have you tried launching it in awd sport or a wot run from a stop? Wonder if you'll get wheel spin..
