Rear wiper blade insert??

Anyone know where to get a rear wiper insert. I attempted to reuse an old one I took out of the front wiper, cut to length, but in BMW's infinite wisdom it is a different width precluding my plan. Nice, real nice. Who would even think of making the fronts and rears a millimeter or two different.

You cannot buy insert for the rear wiper. You have to buy the complete wiper arm from the dealer.

Sorry to say, the above statements are false regarding insert blades. I know for the 2005 X3 SAV all my local BMW center parts department could provide me was an insert for the rear wiper. They told me in the X3s still under warranty the wipers are covered so they buy them in bulk packs and change them whenever needed. They gave me a great deal since my X3 is not under warranty.

How to Change Rear Wiper Blade (again?)

Sorry if I'm bringing up an item that may have been addressed already. I can't seem to figure out or find instructions on removing the rear window wiper on my 2006 X3. The manual gives vague instructions - and when I give it a try the wiper doesn't budge and I don't want to force it.

I got a new rear wiper from www.oembimmerparts.com, love them for OEM and quality reproduction (meyle etc) maintenance parts. Used them extensively on my E46 and now E83. Very quick free shipping too.

Rear Wiper refill

Hi guys,

I used e39 wiper refill blades that I had around to replace the rear wiper. It is not that difficult..

1) Remove Wiper from Arm
2) Using a plyers squeeze the wiper together and slip off the end clip
3) Repeat if needed for the center clip 8 Make note of the notches the clip fits in to
4) Remove blade and measure and cut a new on
5) Slip new blade in the metal rails
6) Put Center clip in by hand by slightly bending the rails to get in place
7) If needed put a clip on one end then put the center clip it. It may help keep in place
8) Put the other end clip in

Done
