Front View Camera

Hi all,

The front view camera on my 2016 F25 is damaged, the lens is completely missing and the view I get is completely blurred.

I have fault code 800BE4 "Front view camera: sensor detected blindness" stored when I read the codes using the Carly app.

My local dealer have quoted me $1150.00 for parts/labour to replace it. Which I have no intention on taking them up on!!!

So my question is, I can purchase the camera module online anywhere from $180-$400 and it doesn't seem very difficult to swap it out.

My suspicion is that this camera is not just plug and play and everything will be well again! Will it need to be coded to the vehicle?

Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Camera is plug and play if you already have one on the car. I would 100% DIY it. Look at some OEM parts websites, should be ~$300

If you have never used it, you can get the part number for anything at RealOEM.com Just enter the last 7 of your VIN.

I use it all the time but since my E90 never came with a front camera it would be a retrofit so I would need the part number.
