Adding Driver Experience switch Eco, Comfort, and Sport

Hi All,

I have a 2011 35i and want to add the driver experience switch. Has anyone here done that and had it coded in? I believe saw someone had done this to 5 series, but I can't seem to find the information.

Thanks,

Roy

I'm rather certain this is more than just coding. I'd advise just buying a newer vehicle.

Thanks but I'm not interested in dishing out money for a newer one, I like mine plenty. This is just a nice to have if I can do it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe the only gain is really Auto Start/Stop. Is that what you're trying to achieve?

I have a 2011 35i that has a switch but the modes are normal, sport and sport+. The sport modes can be selected to adjust the suspension, the drive train or both.

I do have the Dynamic Handling Pkg which includes.

Variable Sport Steering (VSS)
Electronic Damping Control (EDC)
Performance Control (PC)

I have no eco mode, if eco mode does the auto stop/start, I would code it out since I have driven vehicles with it and absolutely hated it!!! Not even sure auto stop/start was available for 2011 US models?

auto start/stop was not an option in 2011. From what I have heard, if you can get it coded properly it still is a very expensive thing to do as I think the drive selector unit has to be replaced as well, at a minimum.

Just echoing what was said by Pungo. I also have a 2011 and no eco mode, but i have the selectable modes he mentioned. And mine also has the EDC, VSS, and PC. Without those features as well I feel like the driving modes wouldnt do much of anything.

Thanks for the info all. This has nothing to do with the auto stop/start that was located by the push start.

I installed the sport shifter and like a lot vs the standard one.

The reason for this is more for my bootmod3 and, if I get it, the xhp tcu software since they have different things they do in each of those modes.

Why do you like this shifter over stock?
