Great, thanks for this info.
Those stock tailpipes on M40i are ugly.

I think these exhausts don't affect the warranty
I'm sure my salesman said so

Simple. Flash takes 10mins, though first time you want take time with the options. Flashback about the same.

That's 93 AKI, not RON, your fuel should be 98 RON for an equivalent octane. 93 RON is 89 AKI which is mid grade gas.

UK ppf car?

If so did you get the burbles back?

What sort of power figures did you get?

i have recently learned that the exhaust burbles/bangs have been coded out due to EU sound regulations, so nothing to do with OPF/PPF. Just that both changes were implemented at the same time for UK spec cars.

I'm also BM3 stage 1 93AKI, its not bad, but think they need to revise it a bit. they always do, but it's only been out for a couple months so it'll take a little time to get the next release. it's super easy and glad I went that path. Once I get stage 2 I'll probably get it custom done to meet my driving behavior needs. think they poked at the throttle response too much.

It is a PPF car, and the burbles are there, but not very loud, having said that I've coded out the ASD so it's nice and quiet inside.

No chance yet to get it on a rolling road, so not sure on the power gains. It does feel faster but it's only a feeling.

Surely it would flag a ECU flash with dealer? A bit like the TD1 flag with VW/Audi?

I would definitely have thought so. I think some people just accept the risk and hope nothing goes wrong. I personally wouldn't take the risk as I like my warranty, wouldn't want the increase in insurance premium and I believe it also breaks the PCP agreement.

I'm sure it makes a big difference but I'm happy with the stock performance and I'm not even revving it yet...!

Thanks mate. Could you let me know how you have coded out the ASD please?

My M140i is running MHD and it's brilliant. I assume it would also work fine on the X3 M40i.

^^Agree completely.

I have tested a few quickish bursts, but only 420 miles in so far :-)

Does it sound better since the BM3 map?

I can’t say it’s night and day but it is better. More noticeable at lower revs. It’s not intrusive.
