Hahaha, but I’d like to think BMW won’t stoop to subscription based services…I hope.
Our X5M is tuned, any dealer experience with that and asking to not touch ECUs? I’m concerned I’ll take the car in to the dealer for a burned out seat heater and getting the DMEs locked up inadvertently.

For the drivetrain no doubt. But some things will be a dealer visit even out of warranty. I just don’t want my ECUs locked.

I've joined the crowd. I'm at 59K, had the driver side seat heater on yesterday and the left side bolster became so hot I turned it off. Now it no longer works.
I'm a well accomplished DIY-er but..... Fine wiring and anything requiring real finesse is not my forte. Has anyone completed this repair at the dealer outside of warranty. Curious of the cost. Thanks! |

cost
I had mine done under warranty last year. The bill said estimated cost was around 1200 with parts and labor/reprogramming as it stated on the receipt.
Not sure if that helps bc dealership labor is insane. |

My 2024 M4C has only 700 miles and the passenger seat stopped heating. I’ll be taking it in for the 1200 mile service in two weeks and hopefully they can address the heated seat issue as well

Damn. I'm not sure when mine broke, but it was a while ago. Unfortunately, I'm sure it happened after I was out of warranty. The dealer said around $1100 but I passed on it. I'll see if they can get BMW to pay for it even though it is out of warranty.
