Which camera setup do you have?
I have the Rove R3. I can't tell if it's their camera or their hardwire kit that causes the reset. I've been debating switching to Blackvue to see if it makes a difference

From what I've read a lot of those kits flip flop the acc/always on wires, you should have power even when the car turns off, thats super weird. Try reversing them? If you are using USB or 12V socket, your car is haunted.

I'll try to reverse them and see what happens. Hope it doesn't give the camera a power surge.

I have a 2020 X5 and when looking for suitable fuse to tap into to hardwire my Nextbase 622GW dashcam, I discovered that all the fuses in the passenger footwell were active at all times. That is, they are not switched to the ignition. I wanted a switched fuse location and found a few in the rear fuse block. I have not yet ran a power wire back there, but that might be my only option.

I did not test to see if the switched fuse location in the rear fuse block are temporarily disabled when one
starts the car (e.g., start/stop feature), but have read where this can be a potential problem with dashcams, radar detectors, etc.

I do wonder if anyone has found a way to hardwire into the one of the front fuse blocks to a switched fuse rather than to always hot fuse location?

Regards,

Steve

Hey there, can you please share how you screwed the mount onto the plastic cover? I am trying to replicate your results.

Thanks

Recommend anyone looking for a dashcam watch this vid. The title is a little misleading but the results are very enlightening.

would you happen to have photos showing where you put the battery pack?
Thinking about getting the same setup.
Did you have to splice any wires?

I've got a 2 channel BlackVue DR900X, hardwired to a 12600mAh BlackVue battery set-up (B-124x + B-124e), and the battery is hardwired to the trunk battery with a relay. Only took a few hours to install

*and iDrive
