Yes, that spring supposed to be the first one to compress.
It is lower spring rate.

Thanks RG!

Hi chaps, another noob question, I know have to get alignment checked but would the parameters be the same (toe camber and all that stuff) if I have kept the stock height?

Thanks

If you are on a stock height, it will be the same.
Unless the installer taking off too much.

Ben, just got my car back from the installer putting your MSS springs on. I only drove about 5 miles, but it was over the pavement I know best up here. Definitely not too soft for these streets. I did experiment a bit as well with the different settings. Comfort is still sporty on this car and perfect for DD (I assume all the additional competition chassis reinforcement doesn't hurt either). It's still not Benz plush and didn't feel sloppy in the one turn I took fast on my way home. I also tried out sport plus suspension. Firmer, definitely, but I still wouldn't put it on par with the factory comfort. It was firmer than the new comfort, so the adaptive suspension is still working, but I don't think sport plus arrives at the the level of rigigidity that was factory comfort. Bear in mind, I specifically told them to maintain the factory rake of 15mm. They delivered it tonight with only a 7mm rake explaining that their experience is the front drops 8mm more than the rear over the next two weeks. My local dealer quoted me $2,500 for the install. New German Performance did it for a third of that and really impressed. I look forward to providing additional comments once the springs have properly compressed.

Keep us posted after couple weeks of driving.

Yes, the front will settle more than the rear.

My other customer in WA also quoted the same.
For $2500, you can truck the car to me and back, includes installation, haha.

Sorry, posted in the what did you do to your car today thread. I'll post the same pics here too now. Unfortunately even though we had nice weather today, I forgot to get some decent shots in the sunlight. I was enjoying driving too much when in motion and just oogling it every time I walked away looking over my shoulder or walking up on it. I'll post a daylight photo soon. I reaaallllly like the way it looks. What a difference and inch makes! Oh, I just remembered the owner of the shop that did the install was very pleased with the outcome and did a mini photo shoot for their website with my car and an RS3 they had just finished modding. I'll post those photos here too once they put them online.

I really like the stance on the lowered position. Did you get a chance to drive the vehicle before it was set to the stock height? Any driving impressions would be appreciated. As a reference point, I live in rural Missouri and the back roads are really bad even in comfort mode. I’ve tried adjusting tire pressures fr/r to as low as 32psi (2.026bar) and it doesn’t help with ride quality much. The recommended Idrive tire pressures are just too much.

I think what some people don't like is the rebound. MSS springs can reduce rebound speed some and soften hits. Letting air out of tires won't change rebound but will take away a little bit of harshness at the cost of handling.

Noticeable difference in appearance for sure. Looks great. I am one that doesn't mind the stock suspension at all. Think it fits the vehicle perfectly. I am a non-comp so I dont know if there is a drastic difference between it vs. comp. Either way lowering it makes it look even more aggresive.

I wouldn’t listen to Joe Achilles, the lil’ macho man. Apparently, it’s OK for M2C/ M4C/M5C to have a firm, sporty ride, yet it’s not OK for X3MC because it’s just an SUV, aka the housewife’s favorite shopping cart.
