Just finished the retrofit on my 21 X3MC. Took me a good 2 hours without the terminal repinning tools. Ended up doing it with a pick tool. Definitely doable once you get the gist of it. Stressful to get to that point of figuring it out though. Outer tails are easier than inner at least for repinning. The inners have way smaller pins that require some finesse.

Saw a few questions above that I wanted to answer. No coding required and DRL does not stay on when the headlights are off.

The rear DRLs don’t stay on and this is such a shame!
As far as I know, on the LCI cars, the rear DRLs do stay on - why there isn’t way to code these or original lights to have rear DRLs ‘always on’

I have euro LCI lights and trying to add them to US spec car. I have searched all over and do not see how to run the needed wires to the BCM? Can someone please point me in the right direction on how I need to run the wires or code this? I have been all over the forum and have confused my self to no end. Need an assist from this great site! Can anyone lend a hand?

Anyone who wants Euro LCIs on your US spec go for it.

Next is to wire the brake lights to the spoiler brake light so they become independent from turn signals as well. At least for now I'm road legal and don't have amber turn signals coming on as brake lights.
Can we connect I need to do the same thing and am confused on how to accomplish this? Thank you in advance

I looked up the wiring diagrams on BMW TIS and now have a game plan.
Located the wires in the BDC that control the signal lights in the side view mirrors. Going to piggy back off those wires and run them to the tail lights. My only worry is when I leave the actual signal/brake wire to the tail lights disconnected it will throw a fault. At least I now have a place to start.

Will report back after I try it out.

Where does the wire ran from the BDC connect to the tail lights at? Which harness, inner or outer and which pin set?

In the US and most likely have the euro spec lights

I ended up getting rid of my Euro Spec Lights and went with the US spec Lights to be plug-and-play.

By Plug and Play, do you mean all you had to do was swap around pins to make it compatible?

I'm in the process of doing just that - getting used lights (half the cost going the used ebay route). Inners are swapped out, waiting on the outers still today/tomorrow.
