This is why I am apprehensive to do the Bootmod tune. If the engine goes, the dealer will surely not cover.
Got it, thanks!

How are you guys still liking this street spring setup?

I noticed the X rides really hard and transmits all sort of vibrations to the driver when the roads are rough, with the springs is this still the case?

Thanks

The MSS springs definitely soften the ride. Even after lowering my F97 by one inch, the ride is significantly softer than with the stock setup.

Thanks Alex,

How do the new springs deal with irregular pavement and small stuff that makes the whole cabin vibrate?

James, I would say it’s pretty comparable to my previous F82. It also depends on the adjusted height. I dropped mine by one inch (see photo below) and I find the ride quality absolutely acceptable. However, do not expect a radical change. It won’t turn the X3M into an air-riding Escalade.

Yes, my M4 was perhaps a tiny bit softer when stock. My X3M with MSS is now perhaps a tiny bit softer than my M4 was. I don’t know, man, ride quality is such an individual thing... everybody has a slightly different perception. I was totally fine even with the stock X3M, just didn’t want the ride to get any firmer after the lowering - MSS Urban is perfect for that particular purpose.

Question for all of you who have made the change to the MSS springs: how do you feel the overall handling has changed? Would you say the handling/responsiveness of your X3 is the same/better/worse? Any specifics you would add? I know that it should make the car a bit more supple overall, but do you think it has actually helped/hurt the overall cornering ability and responsiveness/fun-to-drive factor?

Did anyone manage to record before/after skid pad/slalom type numbers?

This is the exact height I want with stock wheels. Looks awesome man. Are you running spacers?

I don't have slalom or skidpad record. But the on the same highway to my offixe that I take everyday on all of my cars in the past 5 years.
After MSS, 1" drop, I have more confidence in going 80mph on right hand sweep freeway connector.
In stock form, I was having a hard time reaching to 80mph. The reasons:
- Center gravity is high, and I am having a hard time fighting the sideway G pull.
- The rear suspension is stiff where the rear will hop when I hit the freeway connector at 80mph.

Now I have my dashcam, let me see if I can pull some video.

Stock suspension is good for track use where it is smooth surface all around.
MSS and H&R will reduce the center gravity and gives you less rebound than stock.

Agree with Ben's assessment here. I too dropped 1" 3 weeks ago with MSS and have towed quite a bit of load since then. Needless to say, the springs are set now. I find the ride prefect now (my first M car). It is still stiff compared to most cars but is no longer jarring on this horrid Maryland asphalt. I continue to push the curves faster and the car doesn't dissapoint. I do sense that it is not as "crisp" in the corners as stock, but then again when I encounter a bump it doesn't jump anymore either. MSS Urban.... It is, IMHO, exactly that. Not the setup you'd want on a track, but the perfect compromise for a sporty DD on less than ideal pavement. I do not regret this upgrade whatsoever and feel it does not compromise my abilities on the street compared to the factory setup. The lower COG makes up for the softer springs on the street. It's a win win!

Hi guys assuming most of you would have had alignment done after springs swap. If you have the data would appreciate if you could update this thread.

Not sure if there is a diff between LHD and RHD

Thanks!
