Your "question" is pretty self evident with a look at history. Plus, your supposition that the m40i is as capable as one needs for street use can be used ad nauseum to bolster any argument past a Prius or Leaf. Which is a trollish position, imo. Lots of people wanna have fun in their cars- go figure. And lots of people look for ways to spend their money as well. It's fine if you feel the X3M is redundant and excessive, but lots of people are going to disagree with you and covet and buy them anyway. You'll probably have more positive feedback to your position in the X3 forum.... not the X3M one. |

The X3 is definitely one of the best cars I've ever driven when it comes to driving dynamics and overalls diverse capabilities.

If there’s any marketing going on, it’s on the M40i. It’s nothing more than a X3 with B58 engine and M Sport package. |

I'd recommend driving an X5 50i M-Sport with DHP (phew that's long) and an X5M back to back. The former is essentially the M-Performance vehicle w/in the F15 class (key is adding DHP, gives you the diff, active roll stabilization, etc.). You'll get it. |

I kinda wish the X3M had more curves/fender flare on the rear section a la M3 or the Porsche Cayman. This just looks like a regular 3 series to me. I would appreciate a slightly more aggressive stance.

Thanks. And you are correct, I can't stop myself.
BTW, did you pick up that DVM M4 from F85Matt in Chicago? He has another one I've been eyeing...

How a solid aero roof might look - the G01 already has a rear aero channel which could extend forward absent the moonroof. Roof from Miko’s 2018 M5.

I wish they develop M3 Touring instead. I don't get that hype about SUVs really. I know it's fast etc but I see no point of buying M SUV if could have a Touring version with the same luggage size, better agility and driving dynamics. Am I too old-fashioned?
