Residuals should be the same as August: 10k = 57%, 12k = 56%, 15k = 54%. Again, I qualify that with if my calculations are correct.

Bummer. I guess August's numbers it is!
Ouch. Have not decided whether to buy or lease. But maybe I should have locked down the rates in August. My sales guy was confident things would only get better in Sep. How did you get these - from the site? I thought they usually show up later in the day on Sep 1.

Lease credits can be found on the BMW site by punching in your dealer zip under the "Shopping" link.

To get the other values I just used BMW's sample "deal" for the m40i ($729/month) and plugged those numbers into the Leasehackr calculator. If you read the fine print of the deal it gives you all the numbers other than the MF. So once you have those numbers in place on the calculator, just adjust the MF until you recreate the sample BMW offer.

And now that I just typed that, yes, I do have entirely too much time on my hands.

Actually I used the Leasehackr calculator last month to do something similar as well :-) And you are right, I do see Sep 30 mentioned in some places so looks like the numbers are updated already. Although I am not seeing any lease credit listed for the 2021.

You know what, I goofed. I was calculating the MF based on a $729/month payment that included the $1750 lease credit. The $729 payment is without that credit.

So disregard that! Looks like the MF stayed the same this month after all! I'm going to delete that mess to avoid any confusion for anyone else!

Hello,

New member here. I just ordered (yesterday) our 2021 M40i. Don't quite know If, I'll lease finance or pay cash when it arrives. Other folks have told me to never buy a German car and only lease due to the crash in value and poor reliability history.
Your facts and or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

Luxury cars depreciate faster than something like a Toyota. So you will be spending more per year.
For the first 3-4 years all new vehicles are mostly problem free including BMWs. After that you need to budget for maintenance items or things breaking. Get an extended warranty up to 7 years if you want peace of mind.

For a lease, you are locking down the depreciation. It usually does not depreciate too much differently than the lease end value in my experience.

Hello, newbie to the forum here.

I have just placed an Order for an X3 here in the UK. It's the 2.0d M sport [tech pack] and i've also added the M sport plus pack.

The spec sheet has just come back from the dealer and adapative suspension appears to be missing. All the other aspects of the M sport plus pack are there however.

I am struggling to get hold of the dealer, so my question is, is adapative suspension an automatic addition when you upgrade to the M sport plus pack or should I have specfically requested it? It was the primary reason for wanting that pack so curious to know.

cheers,

Hmm... the website shows the description below and it is vague. I read it as the M Sport Plus Pack for the 30d and 30e includes the adaptive suspension but strange how they specify those two models but not the 20d. But if I "build" a 20d and select the M Sport Plus Pack, it shows as having the adaptive suspension in the package. The website is not very clear so definitely confirm with the dealer.

From the website:

£2,200
M Sport Plus Pack
BMW packages are designed to create greater convenience, functionality, desire and comfort on any drive. The M Sport Pro package includes a series of visual and performance upgrades. For the xDrive30d and xDrive 30e M Sport models these include 20" M light alloy Double-spoke style 699 M wheels in Bicolour Orbit Grey with non-run-flat tyres, M Sport braking system, Adaptive suspension, Variable Sport steering, Sun protection glass, M seatbelts, Active protection and Extended High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim. An alternative wheel is also available -

Thanks.

Exactly my thought process. The small print intimates its not automatic for the 2.0 engines yet when you spec it up yourself and click on the 'summary' of the build, it has the adapative suspension.

Strange. Hoping it's an oversight on the spec sheet. Will report back!

Really going to vary by region, number of competing dealers in the area etc. Having said that, $2,150 discount (4.3%) seems low given you are talking about a 2020 left on the lot with 2021 cars coming in. In my relatively small market I got 5% off a 2021 before even really negotiating!

I would push for more... One trick dealers use is adding the rebates to say "look, you are getting more than 10% off MSRP" but often times those rebates are from BMWNA or BMWFS and do not really impact the dealer's profit. You should really negotiate the discount then apply rebates...

Ask for 10% off MSRP before rebates and see where you land. Tell them you know others who are getting it. I see brokers are doing 10% on leasehackr. Right now they are giving you 4% off. This is a 2020, they should be looking to clear them off as 2021s start coming in.

[Edit] Agree with kscarrol above.

Thank you kscarrol & sbt007 for your inputs. Let me ask the dealer for 10% discount on MSRP and see where I land.

Hi mate,

Sounds like you've ordered one similar to mine, it comes with adaptive suspension 👍

Thanks bud. Dealer got back and as you say, adaptive suspension is included. Looks like a simple error on the spec breakdown sheet.

Besides on paper, how can you tell if you have it? In iDrive? The feel of driving around or any marking on the suspension parts?

While I test drove a 30e, which had 19" wheels on it, I felt comfortable with the comfort mode. It was not too hard with sports+ either by comparing with my M3. But Adaptive suspension sounds like a very good option to have. Is this M40i only option? I ordered my 30e with Dynamic Handling Package, which includes: Dynamic damping control. I guess that is a different thing. Is Adaptive Suspension an option available for upgrade after delivery for 30e?

On my gearstick surround where you can switch between driving modes it has "adaptive" down the side

Do the build options ever change intra-year? Should i hold out hope that that BMW will magically offer oh I dunno, no piano black in the center console or bringing back blue contrast stitching? Guessing no...
