Yup, as I mentioned earlier the dealer that gave me such a great deal is betting that next month BMW FS will offer the financing incentives on MY2019s that it has been offering on MY2018 models.

MSRP $55,095 - selling price offer $46,490. So 15.5% off MSRP. Thoughts?

A good deal. This deal, along with the one I just got, might be the vanguard of a pricing change in the market.

I've been wondering about this for a couple of days. Could it be that BMW overpriced the X3 and dealers are discounting to compensate? Are the looming tariffs causing price dislocations? Is the addition of X3 production volume from South Africa and Shanghai bloating supply?

Whatever, it might be a great time to buy one of these cars. If this deal and mine are the canaries in the coal mine, it may mean that 15% is just openers.

How did you get the estimated completion date? I talked to a Genius and they didn't have that info.

He volunteered that information. His exact words were "Good news, your car started production today and had a scheduled completion date of 8/3."

Hmm good to know maybe I'll try calling again. Not to worried. I'm going to assume that since you started around when I did, I should also complete around then.

Do you know how long it typically takes for the manual to be available?

Also I'm trying to look up my vin at bmwvin.com and nothing comes up there. But I do get info on other vin look ups. I really want confirm the packages after what happened to my 2018, while the garage looks fine it would be nice to confirm.

I tried looking up my VIN on mdecoder.com and it can't find my VIN. I asked my dealer for the vehicle inquiry report and I'm attaching what they sent me. This is apparently the most detailed view. No mention of m sport steering wheel. https://share.icloud.com/photos/06Rm...3qHaic4p8-57tQ

For my 30i, which was built in March, 2018 I wasn't able to download the OM until a couple of weeks after production. I think the VIN was available in VIN decoders sooner but I suspect that depends on when BMW releases the "batches" of VINs to downstream users.

Is the $46,490 before or after incentives?

I am new to the forum and have been following the threads concerning pricing at from different people. I seems like there may be up to 10% variance in quotes. I currently have a 2013 x3 28i and am thinking of ordering a 2019 X3 M40i, maybe for spring delivery(no trade in). When should I start the process? I was thinking of sending an RFQ to the internet sales site at 4 dealers here in the NW with a specific build sheet and asking for all rebates, discounts, and finance incentives. Any thoughts on how to format this? Should I go outside the area, maybe California where they may do more volume, or elsewhere?
Thanks

My technique is to call the dealer (use Skype as the more aggressive dealers will record your CallerID), ask to speak to a salesperson and then say, "I'm shopping and would like to send you the exact configuration I want. Please reply with your best price, including rebates and dealer fees."

Then do it, using a throw-away email address (same caution as Skype).

Most dealers today use CRM systems to deal with email inquiries and are prepared to negotiate and provide firm pricing via email.

As an old farht (get it?), it's so much more efficient than it used to be. Worked like a charm for me (see above).

I do think you are starting too early. I spent several weeks in the ordering guide and doing test drives but spent only a day buying. Prep is everything. You should know both exactly what you want and exactly what a good deal is. That depends on market conditions which change rapidly and unexpectedly.

One other tip. Use Excel to record the offers, compute discounts and price the build.

For my x30i, it took 2-3 weeks after it was built. Not sure why.

Keep on trying, it'll appear eventually. However, as others have said, the dealer's "Wholesale/MSRP Vehicle Inquiry" is probably the most definitive item you can get right now. The most definitive item (in the US) is the Monroney sticker, but you'll only see that when the car is delivered (that sticker is legally required to be correct).

I originally placed a order for 18 30i and while my vehicle inquiry report was correct someone at the dealership changed it before it entered production.

It sucked but know I'm getting a 19 M40i for near the same price with options.

At least now the My Garage shows all your options and colors before production begins. So everything looks fine but I'd still love to see it.

Which app are you using to track the build?

Hello,

My week 31 build (2019 X3 M40i - Loaded) entered production 'Production Begins' and I have a VIN number. When I use a VIN decoder, it does not recognize the number. Anyone have any idea how long it takes the databases to get updated?

Can't wait to take delivery. The color is Carbon Black Metallic, which I just saw in person for the first time yesterday. WOW it is an awesome color, unlike anyother BMW color I have seen!!!

Thanks in Advance
