Finally got some things done this week.

Upgrades so far include:

1. H&R springs with about 1.5" drop. The back hasn't yet settled down completely so I expect it to drop more.
2. 20" Niche Essen wheels.
4. Nitto nt555 G2 tires.
4. 20 mm spacers front and back. The 20 mm in front looks good but I get rubbing when backing up only and turning the wheel, like when backing out of a parking spot. Will probably put the 15 mm spacers again on the front. Had no rubbing issues with those.
5. JB+ for now. Either Bootmod3 or MHD flash tune in future once I get downpipes.
6. Have also done some coding to the car with Carly BMW software.
7. Soon to come....rear wing spoiler, blue matching calipers, tinted windows and quad exhausts once i find a rear diffuser i like.


Hopefully these pics help others to see how it looks with the drop and spacers. Could not find any good pictures online for the X4 M40i showing these changes.

Could use some meatier tires but it looks pretty good. Have you considered the performance exhaust instead? What changes did you make with Carly? Was thinking of buying it.

I believe it comes with it when the model is M40i. Even the new video just released of the X3 has them. They zoomed in on the new vent and it was there.

Not in the US they don't

This filter does not make the car look as good as it should my 2 cents

The tires are 245 in front and 275 in back. Meaty enough in person. Exhaust sounds great already especially in sport mode. Dont need anything louder for now.

As far as coding with Carly, i removed warning messages that you get when you start up the vehicle and when you back up. I changed the BMW Connect start up animation with the "M sport" animation. Also enabled rear lights on with daytime running lights. This way when its dark or cloudy or foggy i can still drive with my angel eyes on but rear lights will be on as well for visibility. Also coded mirrors to fold when i lock car. Unfortunately could not code video in motion as it does not work on newer bmw software. Coded few other minor things like trunk lock with keyfob, etc

It came with all M badges from the factory. It is an M40i

And i bought the car used so perhaps previous owner added the side M badges. Anyway it performs like an M and has an M suspension and soon will make it as fast with mods to come

You may be right. Came out too blue. But i was tired and didnt want to redo the pics all over.

Advice: remove jb+ and sprint booster

DrKevM5 has spacers 12 and 15 i forgot which front/rears but no issues with him

I find that the 20 mm in back and 15 mm in front has no issues and gives perfect look. 12 and 15 mm's not enough for me personally.

Why should i take out my jb+ and sprint booster? Car feels much more alive with them, until i get a flash tune at least

I can bet you car is much faster with downpipe ONLY vs jb+ the way you have it now lol. I tested this a few months ago when my buddy (many not on forums) locally with X4 M40i was well wanted to see difference DP on car vs his JB+ stock-DP. Also, sprint booster is meant for older cars not ours that has extra power from factory and throwing boost in our cars (or tricking it) won't be wise if u want a healthy car.

Nice nice. May have to try Carly soon. And I only meant the tire profiles, not the widths. For what it's worth, I've run as wide as 325s out back without any real issues. Slight rubbing in reverse but I've moved onto a different set of wheels by now.

Question: I see that you are using 20mm spacers front and rear... what are the original specs of the Niche Essen’s?

They are 5x120 and BMW has now changed the new G01 X3 to 5x112
