Switch cargo area to remove space saver spare?

I have a 22 M40i with the space saver spare tire option but I hate the raised cargo area.

Has anyone switched this to the original layout without the spare? ie totally flat deck with the tie down rails. Or any idea about how to get parts to DIY?

Thank you!

You could probably just sell the spare, jack etc to another BMW person on this site and purchase the parts from the dealer. I guess it would just be the surround plastic frame. Also, search this site for people who have make the switch the other way, it will give you a good idea of how everything looks. Also the X4 which is basically the same car, has a spare but it does not raised the rear floor.

Did you ever go about doing this? I'm in the same situation where I have RFT but the build I purchased had the space-saver tire, which I hate.

Trust me, the spare is worth it. When you choose non-RFTs in the future, the spare is there. I check in with parts and they were charging over $600 for the rim/tire and a jack.

Rear cargo area spare options

I am looking at going the other way and evaluating getting a spare, Jack and lug wrench vs tire plugs a can of slime and small compressor.
