Nexus 5 Phone
I did try and raise a similar question in another thread, but to be honest I wasn't sure whether it would be spotted due to the title name, so I have created this one instead.
I'm just interested in anyone who is currently using a Nexus 5 mobile with the X3. How is the compatibility with bluetooth, making calls, playing music either via BT or USB etc. Any feedback would be great as I am currently looking at purchasing one of these phones. Cheers. |

if it works with my nexus 4, i dont see it having any issue with your nexus 5. they are using same kitkat android 4.4+. if any issue, i would just delete all bluetooth device and add your nexus 5 as new.

Thanks guys, at least it sounds promising then by what you have said. I checked my software version online to and there is a new version available, so at least I can update that if necessary.

2013 X3 & Nexus 5 here
- Phonebook/calling work perfectly - Bluetooth music streaming works great for both on device media and internet radio (I use Songza)... but you can only skip tracks forward and back, can't select music. - Read SMS works |

I use n4 and n5 in mine, but only for calls. No problems.
Only problem I have is that the car doesn't recognize numbers with "p" (or ",") in, so you can't fully dial numbers with pauses in (my work gate). Also, if there is a pause in the number it fails to find the name for it (reverse lookup). Other than that, RAS. Never tried streaming music, perhaps I will at some point.

I just thought I would provide an update.
I finally purchased a Nexus 5 and connected it to the X3 yesterday and it worked like a dream. There was no need to upgrade the software on the car, so I've left that as is (it's a late 2012 model). No issues in transferring contacts and calls were very clear! Just need to put some music on the phone and give the bluetooth a good try. Although going by your comments I don't see there being any issues. Either way, I can highly recommend the phone! |

One issue I've found is that if I'm using Google Now voice commands (ie. sending a text by voice), the Google Now prompts get lost (they don't play over bluetooth or on the phone).
