Any '20 X3 M40i deliveries yet?

Curious to hear feedback on the add'l horsepower compared to the '18 and '19 models - is it noticeable? Would also love to see pics of the carbon fiber trim, ideally with a black/contrast blue stitching interior. Thanks.

I picked mine up 3 weeks ago with the exact spec youre mentioning. I took so many pictures the first day and really wanted to share them here. But this forum is terrible at hosting pictures. You definitely cant do it from your smartphone. And even on the PC half of the time they error out or are sideways.
Sorry I digress but the picture posting on this forum simply sucks.

I've noticed from the app it will crash it you try to add more than 4 at a time. Keep it under that and they post pretty effortlessly.

Dude man! Didn't you see my post?

https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1660193

I had both a 2018 and 2019 BMW X3 M40i before this one. The updated engine in the 2020 is much, much better. Much faster.

er.. nm. j/k. While I did own the 2018 & 19, I've got 800 miles to go before I do anything close to accelerating. I don't think I've been over 3,500 RPM yet almost entirely living in Eco Pro. On the plus side, I'm averaging 24mpg mostly city miles.

The big difference is the iDrive 7. I do like it. I miss the simplicity of the iDrive 6 at times.. but I love the screen tile options, in cluster map options, etc. etc.

I can't compare 2019 to 2020. I've done some hard pulls in mine. It just keeps pulling. The exhaust on the other hand doesn't pop and burble like 2018-2019.

I have alpine white, carbon trim and black with blue stitching. I can try to take some pics tomorrow. I was going to do carbon fiber with Cognac but I decided to go with the carbon fiber M stitch. The blue stitching around the dash and doors and seats is awesome. Add in the ambient lighting (in purple of course) and you can set the tone of the interior day or night.

+1. I don't know if it's the updated engine or the very aggressive AT (in Sport Plus especially), but the M40i really does just keep pulling. I also agree that although the sound is still great, it no longer has the same level of 'boy-racer' pops and burbles compared to the MY19s that I test drove.

Interesting they reigned in the burbles and pops, i assume you're talking about sport plus mode, i think it's a good thing, comes across as gimmicky since as far as i know it doesn't add to performance..although some burbles and pops would be good. would like to see some interior pics w the CF whenever someone feels like posting. As for more power, i've never wished that my '18 m40i had more power, but i'll take it.

Probably reigned them in due to the X3M coming out. Had to make it a bit gamer sounding now that it isn't the "sportiest" version available.

Considering the X3 M exhaust isn't anything special which makes a downgrade for the X3 M40i now.... I was really underwhelmed when I drove the X3 M and listened to how it sounded.

I've only heard clips of it, haven't gotten to drive one yet. It's seems like most M cars nowadays need a good aftermarket exhaust to make them come alive. Such a shame too.

Do you remember how many days it took between your car entering production and being ready for shipment? Or did you order yours off the lot?

Special ordered mine. Went into production 8/26. Ended production like 9/6 and delivered 10/1 in California.
