BAckup Assistant on the G01 X3?

I am confused on the availabilty of this feature. The Roundel Issue for March has an article on the X-7, which mentions that it the feature is also on the X-3. I searched via Google, and there is a You-tube video of it in use, but the car it that they are used is not clearly stated - from the dash layout, it looks like an X-7, I think. Other places I have looked talk about the G03 X5. One thing that was mentioned was that you needed the Parking Assistant+ package - I do have this on my 2019 G01 X3.

Can anyone clarify if the feature is on the X3?

For the record, mine has the Premium Package, with Driver Assistance and Parking Assistance +

Maybe a typo, don't believe the X3 has it yet, X5 has back up assistant option and new 3 series so maybe linked to cars with idrive 7

Do you mean the feature that remembers the last few metres of driving forward and then can reverse the exact same route?

The X3 doesn't have this feature!
The new 3 & 8 series does

Yes - that's what I'm talking about.

The things I have seen have been talking about X cars, not sedans. The X-7 seems to be a given as having it.

I just purchased custom build two new BMW cars 2020 X3 M40i and 2020 X5 x40i
For both cars I ordered the Parking Assistance Packages - the same package name, the same option selection, and a $700 price tag.
Even photos on the BMW USA website showing the same iDrive menu images when you “build-your-own” x5 or X3
So it makes a clear impression that you buying the same level of services
However X5 Parking Assistant Plus has Back-up (Reverse) assistance, but it is not available on 2020 X3
There are no disclaimers or any clear details for these features anywhere on the website or the build paperwork
I don’t see any technical limitation to allow the same feature on X3, all hardware is already there, so in my mind it is nothing, but Marketing tricks.
I believe that this can potentially be a class action lawsuit for false advertisement against BMW USA

Yes, it is included in Parking Assistant in X3/X4.
I had a chance to realize it works and saved my money for bumper reparation few times !
Is it a feature that holds your car against damaging back of car while reversing ?

No. He means the automatic reversing system. X5 and 3 series remember the last 50m (don't know exact distance) and are able to reverse back exactly like you drove in without driver interaction. Useful if you drive into a narrow driveway and want to back out of it.

I don't think the feature is included in the x3. The X5 and 3 series have additional hardware that allows them more autonomous driving so it may be related to that.

Oh that thing. That is definitely not included in X3/X4.
I remember ordering my car I asked the dealer if remote display is supporting automatic parking/reversing - like in 7 Series - but it is not a feature.

Whoa boy! Take a deep breathe. Gotta be careful or someone's going to accuse you of being a typical American blaming everyone else for your own personal responsibility. Sue them!! fwiw, the X5 Ordering Guide clearly states that ZPK includes Back-up Assistant. The X3 Ordering Guide does not.

X3 M40i does not have backup assistant. I have a US 2020 M40i with all options and packages including Driver Assistance Plus. No backup assistant.

No, x3 doesn't have this feature, nor using cameras as dash cams. I was also disappointed learning that x3, models until now, will not be getting any of these two and my local mechanic explained- bmw is not in the business of adding but selling functions. What we got is what we will have and there will be no options adding unless we buy new model. Totally different mindset from tesla and I'm not sure I was right in supporting such mindset with my purchase.

Due to the product cycle schedules, the x3 will ALWAYS be the last model to get updates (well, maybe the x4 as well). It is considered fortunate that they throw in a half baked ID7 for the MY2020.

Dont they teach you guys to reverse and parallel park over the pond?

I have the Park+, have tried it a few times for fun but to be honest I can park the car a lot quicker myself and Im not Lazy enough to want the car to do it for me oh and when I use it my Mrs gets extremely nervous for some reason
