I just can't get my head around how little BMW actually know.

today I spoke with the salesman and he said that he would not accept that my car was delivered in 2023... then the dealership director made some calls to BMW Portugal and assured me that the car will be delivered in December...
I spoke to another car dealership who assured me that by December 15th they would deliver a car just like the one I ordered but without laser lights and of course more expensive... I managed to find out from the VIN that the car was produced on September 20th... my order was produced on the 29th of July... how is this possible????

My guess is when it actually comes to it, the 2nd dealer who are promising the car sooner won't deliver to that date. They are likely just trying to get your business.

There really isn’t any logic, obviously the codes must have got stuck or something. Just can’t believe that some many here have so many different delivery dates for cars all produced within 2-3 weeks of each other!

I don't have a clue about which ship.

The supplying dealer (who is really helpful) looked on the old system last week; he seemed to think the 4 digit code showing indicated the journey from Bremerhaven to Southampton and the car could well be in Southampton, but hey ho, who knows.

At least our cars have escaped Dalian and hopefully aren't tied up in the further delay that was re posted about here via the Facebook group.

Well todays “Genius” random date generator is code 165 “en route to Southampton” with a delivery now expected w/c 1 November…. Yep I don’t believe it myself, yesterday it was in Dalian. That’s one fast boat!

Clearly if that’s the case BMW’s logistics partner needs sacking. If this carries on they’ll have thousands of £65k cars just sat around at a docks, if they haven’t already!

Ours changed to code 165 today from 160, it was built 12/8 and due next week, they’re now saying week 52 for delivery 26/1/23, but that’s not week 52 is it?

My August 9th build still has an ETA of week 46, though the dealer says it's not gonna happen.

Honestly super disappointed. The main selling point over other brands was the short delivery, advertised as being mid to late September. Jokes.

Spouted the same crap as genius "congratulations on buying a BMW IX3" etc etc

Makes sense really, mine was built early august and was due last week…. We all know how that finished I suspect the date will come and the car won’t have arrived as clearly BMW don’t have a clue.

On the flip side if the date is actually correct the car is on the Volans Leader, which you’d hope all the cars built prior to that would be on too!
