Rear view mirror issue

Just got new car, haven't even put 50 miles on the car. Rear view mirror de-attached from the windshield. went to to BMW Service. Foreman told service advisor that windshield needs to replaced. is that normal ?

The QA in SC plant is definitely smoking something. I just took my G01 and it returned to dealership since day 1 due to multiple panel alignment and bending issue, they are sending it to bodyshop right the way.

My X4 just went to the body shop to repaint the spoiler. Looked like the clear coat missed a spot. It was super weird looking but I was just happy they fixed it.

Is there any damage/issue to the black coated area that the windscreen module adheres to ?

It doesn't sound normal to replace the windscreen unless there is a problem that would prevent re-fixing the module properly.

According to service advisor the piece that mirror is attached to comes pre installed w windshield. And if it is unglued for any reason, they need to replace the whole windshield

Sounds plausible, but such a waste and cost if true.

Mine also has a couple paint defect and deep scratches. The paint should be fully automatic in the plant w/o any human in the process. I don't understand how they could miss these. It has been in the shop for almost 3 weeks and they still don't have any resolution.
