Compass in dash?

Just picked up my X3 30i today, I noticed watching a YouTube video yesterday that the reviewer had a compass in the dash. I have the same partial electronic dash I saw in the review but using the button on the end of the turn signal, I don't have a compass option where the odometer is. I have a nav, do I have to turn this feature on. Is it package dependent?

It's not an option in any of the menus, and it can't be coded with Bimmercode

Can't say i've ever used mine though.

I can only see the compass on the right side of the Map screen when no destination has been entered. When I enter a destination, the compass disappears.

Weird cuz it's not on mine at all, do you have a nav? What packages are in yours?

Maybe it's on 2019 prod X3s only, the guy in the video says that the car is a 2019 X3.

Yep, that's the compass I was referring to. I have that each time I cycle through the display with the BC button.

I have premium and exec packages, not sure if it happens to be package dependent or not. My assumption is that it isn't since the one in the video doesn't even have a full digital display.

I have it on my 19 US spec M40i as well. Maybe it's a country specific thing. What country spec is your vehicle?

I have that "feature". I remember that I read somewhere (quite time ago), that some features of on-board computer are dependent on another features... can't remember what. Maybe some Connected Drive stuff. So maybe the compass is also tied to something like that. Not very logical, but who knows.

I am beginning to think the lack of a compass in my dash in my brand new 2019 X3 may just be a malfunction, reading the manual it should be there but it's not, I am going to call BMW tomorrow.

So I brought my car to BMW today, I went straight to service, who assumed I just didn't know how to use the car and they referred me to the "Genius" after talking to the "Genius" , I was referred back to service.

Further waiting, and they told me there was a service bulletin as this was an issue for my production date. So they gave me a loaner. I will update when I get more info.

On another note, after they do what they have to do, I am a bit nervous messing around with Bimmercode and full screen Carplay both of which I ordered and/or purchased supplies for.
