Open trunk
Disconnect battery
On the right side of the trunk you'll see a black plastic tub - remove that its a couple of plastic fasteners (You may have to remove the whole right side trim to get the bucket out)
Once that is out you should see the VDC incased in some foam
Remove from foam and unplug!

Thanks that’s great. Have just done this and found the module but mine doesn’t seem to be incased in a foam casing like all the other electrical components in the boot.
The vdc was changed by a local specialist but same fault has come back so wanted to check what he had done.

May be a bad module or was not coded in correctly

Yeh I’m hoping it’s as simple as that’s dude. The bmw specialist is adamant it’s nothing to do with the work he has done or the module. I said the same fault has come up less than 100 miles after it has been fitted.

What is the fault? Could possibly be one of the connections on the suspension struts are loose, I'd check those first.

Chassis error on the idrive. Specialist scanned and found vdc1 was to blame. He changed that and the fault has now come back less than 100 miles. I’m going to check the senators on the suspension later today. 👍
