Mich PS A/S4 Wear

Alright, I know many of us have made the switch to the PSAS4's (at least us in the four season areas) so I'm curious what others are seeing for wear. I have just about 13k miles on mine and the rears are at 4/32's and 3/32's. Fronts are fine still around 7/32. I do drive very spirited in sport and MDM all the time but wasn't expecting wear like this. Curious if I got a bad set of tires or if this M is just that badass. Or maybe it's my right foot

Based on what? AS tires are typically a harder compound than summer tires with a better tread wear hence longer life. I've had several high HP vehicles and I've never ripped through tires this fast. I had MPSS's on my X5M and they lasted longer than these PSAS4's. I would expect 12k out of a high performance summer tire like a MPSS with a 220 tread rating. I definitely didn't expect it out of an AS tire with a 540 rating which is why I'm asking for what I'm asking for from others.

MPSS and MP4S are 300 tread wear tires. Their Cup tires are 220 tread wear. That said, before I turned I got rid of my X3M I had 13.5k or so and I was around 4.5mm to 5mm on the rears. So I'd say you're foot reduced wear by an extra 1mm over me but outside of that...the wear is not good.

Thanks for the feedback. Wish damn Conti would get with the program and offer DWS06(+)'s in stock sizes.

The wear rating stated is not much higher. This car puts down lot of power BTW. Buying car like this you would expect to replace tires and fill up often.

Had an evo8 back in 2002. Went through tires every 10k miles and filled up at least once a week. Have not learned my lesson since.

My X5M put down just as much and was heavier and didn't chew up tires like this. I understand all that but my question was in regards to actual wear of these tires. I'm merely looking for actual data and input from others who have first hand experience with these specific tires and what they are experiencing for tire wear. Not hypotheticals. I too have not learned and stopped worrying about passing gas stations years ago. 😂

Is the wear on the rears even across the tread? Maybe adjusting tire pressures could extend their life. Inside wear may be the case, as is common on many BMWs from the OEM camber alignment.

They are within a 32nd all across. The RR will drop to 3/32 and might go slightly up to 4/32. The LR is a solid 4/32. Was just hoping some others that made the change to these could chime in.

They are actually a 45k warranty but since they are staggered the warranty gets cut by 50% so it's 22.5k. The problem with treadwear warranty is most manufacturers want to see rotation paperwork (even though just side to side). To boot, I would probably have to wait until the other side hits 3/32's, winter is right around the corner and this tire is currently not available until January according to tire rack. Perfect storm…
