BMW is moving towards paid subcription for connected drive. Recently they upgraded my firmware and it's now an app store instead which you hv to go in and select which package to subscribe. I complaint to them as i had connected drive before they upgraded my firmware so it's all screwy now. I just had my coder put it back and I m still trying it out.

As for connection, only this works for me but i m using iphone.

1. Launch the app on the phone
2. Plug into the car via cable that's attached to the arm rest
3. start car
4. turn on connected drive in idrive n search for it

If i start the car and then try to hook up, it doesn't sense the app. I have written to connected drive in my home country and they hv referred the problem to germany.
