How common X3M in your area?

BIMMERPOST

So far I only only saw two X3Ms around my area (Central NJ), donington and toronto red (with "SMRTGRL" plate

Does anyone know approximate production numbers for X3M in US?

Not very many in my area (Metro Boston). I've seen maybe 3 or 4 X3M/X4M in the last year.

I'm in central CT and have a M40i and I only saw 1 so far passing on the opposite side of the highway.
A shop owner I visited has a X3M. So thats 1.

And there is a X3MC in a town right next to time, I met the driver right when I got my M40i. He said oooh why didnt you get the X3MC its so much faster, we should race for fun. So we exchanged #'s.
I was at around 400 miles on mine back then. Now that Im pretty much done with mods for now. I just texted him yesterday. Hey lets meet up for a friendly race X3MC vs M40i in Mexico.
He must have seen one too many of my social media posts with VP racing fuel jugs and data logs from BM3. The response I got was we will see.

I've seen several M40is around, but no other X3Ms or MCs. Then again, my sphere of driving is been pretty curtailed of late. Would like to see another on the road soon, though.

There will be more X3M/X4M on the streets soon, because:

1) Some potential buyers wanted the iD7
2) Many buyers prefer not to buy first model year bimmers (for legitimate reasons)
3) Many X3 M40i lease terms will be ending soon and I'm sure some of these people will be wanting to switch to an X3M

I haven't seen any X3M's in my area, just not as popular I guess, in fact I don't see too many in my travels at all

Was just in CT passing by when I raced the BM3 2.4v file X3M and showing him the hot sauce. Happy to do the same for you if you would like

Let me know

I think the Bay Area might have the most then, every shop I've been to has told me they worked on a few already

Don't get me started on the m40s.

There are quite a few owners/posters here in Long Island who have one, but I have yet to see one in real life.

Personally, I always liked having vehicles which few other people owned. In my ~15 years of owning my Interlagos Blue E46 M3 (Competition Package was required to get that color at at cost of ~$5k) I saw exactly zero in that color.

I have not even seen an M40i unless you count the regular X3 with a fake M40i badge in the wrong place while at Walmart.

Correction I forgot about this early prototype X35iX3M I saw at AutoZone

I had a competition pack in individual Estoril Blue back when I lived in LA. Thought I’d be unique. Went to a car meet with willpower and saw another Estoril E46 M3, though theirs was not ZCP. Interlagos was common in LA though.

I'm willing to bet M3's were more common in general in LA.

In NY, it was not a very practical car. I had a truck that I drove primarily.

I loved Interlagos Blue - I wish I could have gotten it for the X3MC. The blue that they have for the X3M didn't do it for me.

I personally would never do it, but to each their own.

I read a post years ago where the guy made a lot of sense. Something like "Most people won't understand the significance, those who do know its fake".

It's kind of like women who buy fake branded purses (i.e. "bags"). To you or me we don't know nor care but other women who are in the know can spot them as fake.

Yeah, there are a ton of M3s back home. I wish Spartanburg was set up to do individual colors already, I would’ve gotten something else for sure. None of the colors stood out to me. I went with Phytonic because I love blue and it was the one I assumed would have the least of. I think that is correct so far.

I've see a couple here and there but X3 M40i's are much more common around my parts (1.3 million people). X3's in general are everywhere in Calgary as they outnumber the german competition combined.

Since they did not have the blue I wanted, I was set on black but afraid of the maintenance so I went with Dark Graphite.

Not sure if it fairs any better than black but happy with the color. Still would have preferred Interlagos Blue though

Now that you mention it, I dont remember if how many of them I have actually seen "in the wild". Seeing r33_RGSport one doesnt count because it was at his shop LOL....

Then again, we have that thing going on right now so I cant say that everyone is out and about as normal as usual....

Back in February when I was home, I saw a brand new Alpine White one in the wild. It was in SGV area and of course had New Century license plate frame on it.
