WOT - A later post in this thread has an install video showing the need to take apart the Start Stop button. I am confused. You indicated the sticky tape will pull out the old button but the other video requires disassembly. Can you clarify?
Thanks.
Replacing the button only does not require disassembly. Some units come with the button and assembly, but replacing the button only is a quick mod. I have a 2018 for reference.

This is for a Supra, but instructions are the same: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/ind...tton-diy.3218/

It will be here Monday. There was another member who said he used sticky putty to remove the stock button and it took less than 60 seconds. We shall see.
Might have been me. I bought the IND version way back when I had the M40i. I used the sticky putty method and yes, took less than a minute.

I want to add that I purchased the IND one as well and could not get it to come off with putty. Its not that hard to pop off the vent piece and go from there. A small trim tool will get the job. Just start on the passenger bottom side and work around. Once you pop the passenger side you can almost just yank the rest. After having the vent piece out I am not sure how the putty is able to pull that hard. Love my red IND button tho. Best 25$ I ever spent.

I have this in another thread, but just got a new stereo professionally installed in my humble 30i. Sounds great.

- Morel Hybrid 402 Components up front
- Stock Rears
- Morel ADMW 9 underseats
- Helix V-Eight DSP (8-channel amp + 10 channel DSP)
- Two JL TW5 subwoofers in fiberglass enclosure
- Kenwood XD 1000.1 Monoblock D Amp
- Trunk & License Plate sound deadening

I've been wanting a system like this my whole life and finally was in a position to do it. Not disappointed. I was worried about the TW5s not having enough output (wife won't let the trunk become a space for W7s....) but I'm not disappointed at all.

Easy enough to do if you have a shop nearby who can fabricate exhausts... if they can make an exhaust, they can mod an existing one.

It looks like Pro Tuning Freaks has Bootmod3 Stage 1 available for the 2020 X3 M40 now available. I might have to install it this weekend along with the red start button.

They had BM3 available for a while. Question is if you still have the unlocked DME if the old software. If you had the last update done then youre out of luck.

Thanks man! This was the ceramic pro bronze treatment installed by Mr. Detail in Seattle. The list price is $995, but I got a slight discount, and used it to tip. I was interested in silver but a detailer friend waved me off, since it's a lease. Bronze has a two year warranty and my car lives inside, so I think it will make it three years. First week in rainy Seattle has shown me that the car really repels water and mud better than I'm used to.

Here's the list of ceramic pro treatments.

I had the license for awhile and waiting for the OTS maps for the 2020. I know for the other years they had maps. This is the first time I seen one available for the 2020.

I'm so tempted to try BM3, but wish I could find more 30i testimonials to see if the warranty risk is worth it. I imagine the change in driving experience is different on the M40 vs 30i.

Bought a second set of OEM mirror caps and had them painted in Black Sapphire Metallic. I didn't like the look of the gloss black wrap I had done in the summer.

We've been keeping up on BM3 for the 2020 M40 here:
https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1648493

They just released stage 1 for 93!

I tied to install the red start button. I removed the center trim piece from the dash but couldn't unplug 2 of the 3 plugs. I watched the IND install video and it looks so EASY. I will try again after I get a pick tool for the plugs. It's so disappointing.
