Windshield cowling leaking water into engine bay

I am in the middle of working on my car (installing GFB DV+ ), then it rained. And I found out that rain water was leaking through the windshield cowling and drip into the engine bay. . It leaks on where the engine cover is and also on the drive shaft on the driver side.

Normally we have the engine cover and it shouldn't be a big problem. But why should the plastic windshield cowling leak water into the engine bay? Anybody got this? Once the rain stops I'll find out the leak point.
