I've had my x3m for 2 weeks. It's a 2020 with low miles. Drives great. It was finally cool enough outside to drive with windows down last night. I noticed a very subtle chirp (like a faint smoke detector battery low sound) coming from outside the car when I touch the throttle. I can't replicate it when the car is stationary.

Any ideas? I can't hear it when the windows are up.

Could be this. A common problem for M vehicles including X3 M.

Thanks for the info. I don't believe it to be a click, sounds like a really light chirp...tho it's entirely possible it's related and possibly precursory to the development of a louder noise.

It could be that you're hearing the exhaust valve operating. Have someone else touch the throttle while you listen at the rear
