my dealer told me this will not be just a standard facelift. BMW will release an extensive facelift for the importan G01. Next to new headlights (laser), tail lights and some interior stuff from the X5 he is sure (for 80%) the new X3MC LCI will have the option for the carbon bucket seats!
As a comparsion....meanwhile you also can configure the M8 with carbon bucket seats...
Negative aspect. The pricing will be much higher as the pre LCI....

By the time you see production 2022 it's generally too late to order the current year model for this vehicle. Usually they're done taking current model year allocations by May while the next model year is showing up around August/September.

So according to the forum, the LCI is either going to be extremely minor, or a whole new car. Should be an interesting reveal! lol

I didn't want to wait for some possibly very minor overall changes to the outside aesthetics. So I ordered one in early March and should taking delivery of my new 2021 X3 M Competition soon.

Just playing devils advocate, but when it's all said and done, is it fair to say that the 21 X3M may be the least desirable of all of the years for the car?

The 2020 model is the first model year and also has a more classic gauge setup which most seem to prefer. 2022 will bring the LCI and likely HP/TQ increases. Then who knows.

But 2021 seems to be a weird, line toeing year. Again I'm just playing devils advocate so I could be totally wrong here.

One thing I've learned, is that unless an LCI really is a game changer - I'm talking about different engine, fully reworked interior, etc. no one really seems to prioritize one over the other when it is all said and done.

Don't forget that BMW has also screwed up their share of LCIs, which I think is why they've started to go much more conservative recently. They certainly don't want to mess too much with a good thing here, so those hoping for a major retool will be disappointed.

Spoke to my dealer today about ordering an X3MC. Lead time is 16-20 weeks, so he said it will be the LCI model. Just waiting to hear what extra options will be available, and what sort of deal they’ll do on it now.

You may want to take a look at this thread. It seems like the 2022s are going to lose a few options.

Cheers for the heads up, I hadn't seen that as not been on here for a while. I wouldn't have specced those options anyway, so won't lose too much sleep!

I just hope that all the decent deals haven't gone, and BMW don't put the price up by a huge margin, rendering the car overpriced. If so, the Macan GTS or Turbo may be the better option.

Not really sure Porsche is ever a better option when we are talking about value to cost.

Hearing that there are significant debates between delaying the LCI or releasing decontented versions. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
