Golf tee mod

Has anyone done the golf tee mod to get better sounding exhaust? It seems to easy to just unplug a cord and get better sounding exhaust!

From my understanding, there is no vacuum hose on the F25s to plug for some reason, which is where the 'golf tee' part of it came from. What most people say to do is unplug a wire connection in the trunk that controls the exhaust valve. When the connection is removed it will leave the exhaust valve open. The difference is so incredibly small you can barely tell. Might be different (and necessary)on the 28i just because I'd assume it quieter, but my 35i has enough troat-y-ness for me!
I can post some pics of the connector I speak of in a bit if you'd like

Yeah an pic would be great! Did you have any error codes as a result of doing it, or any other problems? I have a 28i so I'm curious how much of a change it would make!

Not sure if the 2013 and up 28i have the same muffler as the 35i
The 2011-12 28i doesn't have this muffler flap. Both exits are always open.

So then likely 13+ all have flaps. Might be an LCI update

13 is not LCI. LCI is 2015+

11 28i had the N52 6 cylinder 3.0l engine.
Newer models had the N20 4 cylinder 2.0l engine. The n20 has a flap in the exhaust as does the N55 3.0l

Yes, I also believe it's a "engine mode" thing.
N52 did not have Eco pro, comfort and sport. The flap is open when in sport mode (and when needed other times too).
