October production for X3 M40i means at least a year out for F97 X3M. Maybe I should just extend lease or buy and wait the year.

Pretty sure X3 M40i will come out first, shortly the X3M will follow as a 2018 model (as per what we're hearing). the X4M will follow as a 2019 model. Wish there was more info on the dates

All G01 X3 models will be 2018 (October 2017?), just not 2017 fast enough for me. I'm guessing G02 X4 and F97/98 M versions of X3/4 will be 2019 (August 2018?).

Doubtful if the current BMW lineup is of any indication. It seems on all of the newly introduced chassis F22 and on, the top engine gets the M-performance treatment and there is no non-M-perofrmance version of the top engine.

But if you look at the current X4 lineup, there is a huge power gap from the X4 28i (240hp) to X4 M40i (355hp), so there's definitely room for something in the middle. Much like the Audi Q5 2.0T/3.0T/SQ5. Or maybe they'll follow MB with GLC 300/GLC43 AMG.

Hi everyone,

please don't forget, that the new X3 will get two M Performance versions, The M40i and the M40d ! The Diesel version won't be available in USA. Like for the upcoming X3M, all those engines will be found as well Under the Hood of the new X4 (2018).

Trust me I love my X4 M40i, just turned a year on the 10th and im at 18300 miles.

Looks like BMW is not giving us the S55 but instead a beefed up S58 with 450-460hp range? I hope they fix the fueling limitation B58 has although its powerband will be nicer. I have 2 more years of full enjoyment to go.

2 years and you will be just in time. If I can't get this lease shit figured out I will be in a X4 M40i and wait for the X3M!

IMO I don't mind the S58 beefed up to 450+hp. That means new M3/4 will get a (edit) HYBRID and that may see life in a X4M in 3 years. Maybe a X3M LCI in 5. LOL. I hate all the date changes and craziness. Just give me my M dammit!
