Update:- I have just had TWO OTA local updates in one day ! 2018-4 this morning followed by 2019-1 this afternoon.
No progress on the ability to perform a USB full update. All gone quiet again.

Just a thought. Has anyone received an OTA update for their home area and then altered the desired area in Connected Drive to a different area and subsequently received that one also?

Rik, how do you alter the desired area in connected drive? Mine thinks I am in Germany when I log on through my computer. I am in the UK and always have been.

In Connected Drive on your computer. Go to Remote Cockpit, Control. Then scroll down to Map Update and click on the button. That should give you a dropdown for Automatic Map Update which contains area options that you can alter. ( I hope )

No, nothing as yet. All gone quiet again. Very disappointing response I must say.
I am going to try altering the 'local' OTA area to Spain in a few days if no help from BMW. It will be interesting if that works to update the Spanish sector. Then France I suppose.

I have auto updates but I have not received the new update yet. Does anyone know if there is a set day of the month it is sent out? I am in the UK.

As mentioned above, I have had two UK OTA updates 2018-4 and 2019-1, both on the same day. Which version do you have Pete?

I am still showing the 18-3 version. I am wondering if there is a setting I have altered and should not of done.

I would doubt that you have done anything. It's all a bit random as far as I can see.

I managed to do what you did and convinced the dealer to put the 2019-1 mapping on a USB for me. That has at least got me up to date for the moment but is not the permanent answer.

Good ! Pitty they did not install 2019-2. The battle continues !

I downloaded 2019-2 earlier today, which is now ready on a USB stick for when my X3 gets back from being detailed.

I don't know if updating maps is part of PDI, but mine didn't have the latest maps upon delivery (20th April), even though it had been out a week or so.

That said, it was only at the dealership a couple days before I collected.
